Timezone becomes wrong and bluetooth sync lost. These always happen simultaneously.

My Instinct 2S has worked perfectly for almost 2 years now. However during this week, the following has happened twice:

In the morning, time is +1 hour off, as if timezone would be wrong. Garmin Connect app doesn't find the watch. Rebooting the watch fixes both timezone and sync.

Two questions:

  1. Any hits to fix the root cause (well I guess factory reset and reinstall everything etc.)
  2. Even if the occasional sync problem would persist, any hints to fix the time problem? Currently my time setting is "automatic" - perhaps "manual" mode would prevent it going off by 1 hour when the automatic mode fails?

  • Regarding 2) yes, "manual" mode seems to be reliable so far, contrary to all recommendations regarding Garmin time zone problems that tell to ensure that the "automatic" mode is on. The manual mode might drift a few seconds in the long run, but at least it doesn't jump off by hour(s) randomly, which is great.
