Instinct 2X Update

Dear Garmin,

it is very nice that you released a "new" software updated Instinct 3 watch, BUT Instinct 2X users have been waiting for 6 months for a software update for the watch, which has not arrived, and which other and cheaper models also received. We are not waiting for an updated "new" watch model!!

We paid a lot of money to buy a watch that is almost 20 months old. Should we take this to mean that support for the watch ended after one year? And should we pay another hundreds of dollars for a "new" updated model?

I'd put my money that the whole Instinct 2 development team was assigned to the Instinct 3 development/launch and that's why the Instinct 2 beta 17.01 release is still sitting in beta.

since I3 is out, and at least on specs, its only an i2x with SatIQ. But with more app features and yet similar batt specs, i presume it should also means its a more responsive i2x. Given that i2x is already…

Dear Garmin please include endurance score and hill score to the Instinct 2x.

99% bet they won't. Just like them abandoning new features onto the Epix 2 Pro, I think this is the case with the I2 (family). Just like with the Fenix 8, they want us to buy new watches and not hang on to older models. They don't make money that way.

As I’ve said more than once: the entire Instinct 2 line, including 2X, is abandonware. Garmin’s focus is on fixing a myriad of bug in the new line, Instinct 3. They’ve obviously pulled the Instinct 2 team to the new product line.

The watch is still officially sold, so they should be constantly improving it and fixing the current software. The fact that they released Instinct 3 full of bugs does not excuse them. As the owner, I don't care.

Where does it say anywhere that Garmin will continue to support any products for any amount of time after product launch date?

Instinct 2X is still sold. It requires to be supported with updates. In the EU compliance to Consumer law requirements forced Samsung and other manufacturers to increase their support to 5 years minimum for expensive gadgets like mobile phones. The Instinct 2X is an expensive gadget. It would be wise for Garmin to do the right thing and provide support rather than be forced to do so by the regulators while still having their brand image damaged. Garmin has supported its cheaper and older devices while neglecting the Instinct 2X. That is weird and unexplainable other than to conclude they want consumers to buy their latest product I3.
