Treadmill Calibration not working after 22.35

Question

I have never had issues with Treadmill calibration since I have the watch for over a year. 
 After updating to 22.35 calibration is going nuts!. Even if I calibrate, the following run it is totally off, even after resetting treadmill settings. 
 Interesting the same issue on my Vivoactive 6 after to latest software 17.33. 
 Am I the only one?

Thank for sharing your concern. Here are some recommend for treadmill calibration:

Do not hold the handrails.

Maintain a natural arm swinging motion.

Record outdoor runs with GPS to help calibrate the accelerometer to your cadence.

Use the treadmill calibration feature.

Use the same treadmill each time. If switching treadmills, complete a new calibration.

Using the Treadmill Activity Profile on My Garmin Watch

Update July 10, 2026: 
 We have a fix for this issue in our Public Beta Software Version 23.12. To enroll in our Public Beta program in order to get the software update, please see Enrolling in and Learning About Garmin Beta Software Program . 
 If you do not wish to enroll in our Public Beta Program, you will still receive the fix at a later time. 
 If you enroll in the Public Beta Program, you will need to do the following to get the software and fix the issue. 
 On the watch: 
 
 Hold Up to enter the Main Menu 
 Select Watch Settings 
 Select Software Updates 
 Select Check for Updates 
 
 Install the 23.12 software after is downloads. Once the software is installed, follow the normal steps for treadmill calibration: Using the Treadmill Activity Profile on My Garmin Device 
 For those not interested installing Beta software, the fix will be included with our next Live software update.

Update July 23, 2026: 
 We have a released a hot fix for this issue. This is being rolled out, and is currenlty at 20%. 
 On the watch: 
 
 Hold Up to enter the Main Menu 
 Select Watch Settings 
 Select Software Updates 
 Select Check for Updates

If your watch does not find an update, try again the next day.

Install the 22.41 (or later) software after is downloads. After installing the update, your watch will continue to report very incorrect distance/pace on your next run. To resolve this: 
 
 Do a Treadmill Run that registers 2 miles on the watch while running at a steady pace 
 Stop and save the activity 
 The watch will prompt a treadmill calibration 
 Enter the distance from the treadmill 
 
 To further improve the accuracy, record outdoor runs at different paces.

Update: the fix worked for me. 
 I updated to 22.41, completed one treadmill run, saved and calibrated it using the treadmill distance, then did another treadmill run. 
 The second run was accurate. Distance, pace and heart rate all matched the treadmill as expected. Thanks Garmin!

macx What happens after you do the treadmill calibration after the 22.35 update? I just want to confirm that you're using these steps to calibrate the treadmill distance. If so, how far off would you estimate the distance recorded to be from the actual distance?
