fenix 8 microphone not working both for notes and vocal commands, only for call

The exact same thing happened to me. The microphone wasn't working for voice commands, but it worked for activating smartphone functions, just as it worked for making calls. Because of this, I noticed that voice notes and voice commands must depend on a single, specific microphone—otherwise, I couldn't explain it. And perhaps this microphone gets clogged easily and, as a result, stops doing its job. Anyway, nobody replied to my report, which you can find here. Want to know how I fixed it? Since it was still under warranty, I contacted customer support. After having me try a few things like a soft/hard reset, they replaced the watch for me. Everything has been working perfectly for 5 months now.

It makes absolutely no sense, especially since, as you wrote, the microphone works during calls. So, it either works all the time or it doesn't work at all. For me, even the voice commands (the ones for the phone assistant) were working: out of laziness, I would use my watch to ask about tomorrow's weather, and I could hear the answer, even if the volume was low. But if I tried to record a voice note, the result was just static. Same thing if I tried to set a timer or start an ECG—it was as if it couldn't hear the voice command I was giving it!

Simon1445134 Thank you for the video! Can you tell me when you first noticed the change with the Voice Note and Voice Command not working? Has it ever worked? 

You are welcome. At least 1 month ago, I used that feature very rarely but it was working, not so good but at least sometimes worked  Then I really needed it one month ago and after lot of trials found out that it was not working anymore, as you can see and hear from the video.

hello, i am having the same issue in my fenix 8 solar 51mm, is this related to hardware or software issue ? does garmin address this issue and working to fix it if it's just software issue ?
