Hi,
My Fenix discharges very quickly. 20% per day without GPS workouts and without AOD. That's relatively high compared to my Epix 47mm.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I hope that this will be fixed with the next firmware update.

Our engineers are still investigating battery drain concerns associated with the Fenix 8. They would like to point out many things that are expected to increase battery drain beyond the estimated days…
Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered an issue that was causing incident detection to remain after, after being used in an activity. This was causing a significant increase in the battery…
Hi Laurie,
Already shared these informations with you weeks ago, enabled logging, still no reliable fix on Garmin's end. Should we trust the brand at all?
I understand the items list you have above…
Same problem here, with fenix 8 51mm amoled.
PulsOxy Setting -> manuel
AOD off
Gesture Mode on with 4Sec
No GPS activities etc.
Display Off overnight / Red Shift on Touch
Bluetooth Connection to iPhone
Issue…
Yes, the battery drains even when not wearing the watch.
Anyway, some of these tips are ridiculous:
Turn on the battery saver feature from the controls menu (Controls). I dont buy the watch to be in battery…
I have been using Garmin for two months and I am really amazed at how many problems there are with the Garmin Fenix 8. This is my most expensive watch ever. I wanted to try something different another brand, but the positivity cannot be read from it. Paid €1200 for a watch that is full of bugs and errors. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 worked perfectly right away for €900, the Samsung watch 7 Ultra €700 worked perfectly right away, but the Fenix 8 for €1200 is full of bugs, lag and errors. The feedback from the developers isn't too good either. Customer service just talks around the problems... And we have to assume that forum staff members do everything they can to inform developers about this. All in all, this does not deserve the beauty prize.
No problem with my 47mm. I'm pretty happy with the battery life so far. I'm currently on day 8 with battery still at 37%. That is with over 3 hours of GPS use(high accuracy), a bit of music(bluetooth headphones & speaker), and a mix of Pulse Ox on all day and just at night. I'm currently at 2/3rds brightness with gesture on but, no always on display.
You forgot to mention you’re not running gesture or AOD….?
Battery life is great on the 51mm watch. It gives me 21 full days with everything on except AOD but in full brightness in smartwatch mode.
Did you manage to get one before it was officially released? It's only been out for 18 days so keen to know how you're getting 21 days...
I have the 51 AMOLED. Watch face with seconds (data dash) was eating through battery. Same with third party faces.
I switched to a factory watch face without seconds or moving data fields. Much better! I am now getting 2.6% / day drain with most things off. Gesture on.
I am running the stock watch face, with seconds, on my 47mm and it doesn't seam to be a problem. Currently on day 9 with 33% left. See above post for settings.
I have the same problem here. I am really regretting going from a Amazfit TRex Ultra to this watch. From the battery to the software the Garmin is not as good at a MUCH higher price point.
Same issue here now.
Mine was great first charge. Gave it a full charge yesterday and lost 6% in 12 hours, no AOD and sleep mode for 10 of those hours (it was overnight) so no real use of the watch......
Just wondering if something like a reboot fixed this? I have a similar problem discharge from 82% to 41% over 24 hours with a 1 hour cycle, AOD off Pulse Ox off Gesture 8 seconds. Display off overnight.
