Fenix 8 Amoled 47mm - Battery Drain

So now there are users who are threatening a class action lawsuit. I am not disputing your claim that you have an issue but, there are plenty of users who are reporting acceptable battery life. I'd suggest you contact Garmin Support directly with you issue and/or return the watch if you are not satisfied. Idle threats on a user forum are going to do little to help.

So does Garmin to solve a 15 pages documented issue over less than 2 months with 0 improvement.

Like I said idle threats do little to help. If you look back over the last few days many of the same users are posting over and over again just adding to the bloat of this thread. In fact, some of the posters are happy with the battery life.  I will repeat, rather than post threats, maybe it would be best to contact Garmin Support with your issue.

I don't understand why a poster who claims "that is happy with the battery" would post in a thread where many people are exchanging opinions and speculation why F8 has such poor battery life. If you have any suggestions or know something we don't, we welcome your feedback. Some of us had already contacted Garmin Support, but they did not provide a solution. I got a F8 substitution, and it has the same issue, obviously a software bug. Try to be helpful, or post where you can help, this is not the "happy customers thread"

Do you think I would threaten if I had not already been in 1 to 1 contact with support on more than 1 occasion since 2 months? Note that after my threat I received another 1 to 1 email with a different procedure. Since this message, wether you like it or not, things are moving in a way they did not so far

The above reminders are for those who may not be aware of things that can effect their battery. It is also important to note that there are features available on this model that were not available on previous versions. So usages may be different.

As mentioned, our engineers are still investigating concerns of battery drain, and are reviewing the usage logs for drain anomalies. And will continue to do so, for those that reach out to me, or Product support with this concern.

tutto quello che hai menzionato capisco bene che puo' ridurre la batteria del fenix 8 (nel mio caso ho un 51 mm Amoled) e sicuramente vanno adottate delle accortezze ,ma se chi su questo forum segnala (me compreso) una grossa anomalia della batteria del device,evidentemente il problema c'e e non e' di poco conto.Lato sportivo molto molto soddisfatto veramente nulla da dire ma capisci bene che un prodotto sponsorizzato con tali giorni di autonimia ma nella realta arriva a 1 terzo di quello dichiarato soprattutto dopo aver speso una importante somma di denaro non e' concepibile e mi risulta normale il malcontento generale degli utenti coinvolti nel problema .Per avere una "degna" autonomia si e' costretti a disattivare la maggior parte delle funzioni ed effettuare dopo ogni attivita' (nel mio caso )un soft reset.Possiamo essere abbastanza delusi?!certo che si che possiamo!

Siamo fiduciosi che le cose verrano sistemate al piu presto con aggiornamenti software

Sorry for replying (as a new community member for some reason I cannot just post a message in this thread for everyone, strange).
Got my fenix 8 47mm for a two weeks now. It was updated with the latest software right after I take them out of the box. Stryd was connected, as well as my headphones (that's all my sensors). After my first ~1h run at the same day I noticed battery drain (thought that is Ok, since previously I used fenix 6 with a different type of screen and thought that is amoled + adaptivity period with some processes on the background).
After the first night I saw about 13% less battery, and then I found this topic. I was deeply disappointed, and consider to do a factory reset as some user suggested BUT decided to go with a simple reboot first. In my case that helped - now I see about 1-2% less battery during nights (no oxygen, sleep mode activated) and overall I'm good with current numbers. I also thought that drain can be connected with sensors in a "search" mode, and I turn them off and then after a couple of days turn them on again - no significant battery difference was captured (I also keep wi-fi connection turned off)
I still afraid though that after next activity session (or next reboot) I will face the same error, so I'm continue to keep an eye on this thread.

Not sure if this is going to help Garmin team to find the source of battery draining, but I noticed that a sport activity with disabled GPS (because it was anyway indoor) and with NO external sensors does not trigger high battery drain.
Tomorrow I am going to have another indoor activity, but this time I will use an external HR monitor. I will report if I see high battery drain after that type of activity.

In the meantime until it is resolved, if it is resolved I will return the watch since the return period expires in 7 days. For the money spent and for what I knew Garmin represented with battery life, for me it is not acceptable, especially since I use it under the same conditions as my old Fenix ​​7 SS watch which I was extremely happy with and I'm sorry I gave up on him. I will see if I will buy it again if the problem is fixed, but I don't want tests to be done on my money and my nerves.
