Issues with map and routing

I’ve tried using the Fenix 8 amoled with some of the features i’ve used with my Fenix 7x and some are missing:

1. ability to long press on a map and choose to navigate to it. Actually, I couldn’t find anyway to navigate to a point on the map, not even with “navigate - using map” - it just doesn’t work. Seems to be a bug with the new UI

2. The ability to choose routing type has disappeared? I can’t find the ability to pick if I want to use trails or roads to route on my run. This was possible before

Those are the top ones I found so far.

  • 1. Maybe it is like forerunners. With long press start button. That would be a step back, because assigning a hot key for long press start breaks it

If assigning a hot key for "hold start" breaks the corresponding map functionality, I would consider that a bug. (And yeah, on FR955, at one point holding the down button in pan mode would open the music controls instead of panning faster. But that's been fixed now.)

On my FR955, I just tried assigning a hot key to "hold start" and I'm still able to navigate to a point on the map by holding start. (Regardless of whether a hot key is assigned or not, you first have to make the crosshairs appear by panning the map.)

  • It was 955. But yes, I see it is solved now. But since I kept the hot key unassigned, I wasn't aware it was fixed.

  • Same as Hesher. No way to navigate using map.

Other bugs I have found when using navigation:

    Routing ON/OFF -> Stays OFF
I have found with the Routing On and Off on the left screen and once OFF is chosen it does not want to go back to ON.
It shows Routing ON on the toggle display but no calculation is done it is stuck in "Direct Routing" and the straight pink line and distance are displayed.
    I'll try a hard reset.
The routing is not coming back. Always the direct line and distance.

Also once launched, I cannot find a menu to STOP navigation.

    What am I missing ?

EDIT: I have restored to default setting the activity and the "course routing" is back. But once the navigation launched, the calculation is awfully long and result to error for not know roads. Even on test navigation I know using main road in the city....
There is some serious software polishing needed.

EDIT: the STOP Navigation is available when the Navigation ETA screen is displayed in its MENU !!
