Fenix 7 Pro Solar (v26.09) : must reboot to detect Polar H10

I have two Polar H10 heart rate monitors.

Since installing firmware version 26.09, I have to restart the watch every time for one of my Polar H10 heart rate sensors to be detected via ANT+.

The batteries in both Polar H10 units are brand new, and my Garmin Edge 1040 detects them immediately without any issues.

All other equipment (Assioma power meter pedals and Tacx Neo 2T indoor trainer) is detected by the watch via ANT+ without any issues.

Does anyone else have a similar issue?

1) have you updated Polar H10? Not long ago there came two firmware updates.

2) try removing H10 from watch. Then do pairing it with watch again.

Those are very usual ways to repair that. Connections just sometimes craps.

If not helping then tell in here and maybe somebody else knows more.

I had issues with H10 on my 6X. I’ve now got 7X but not connected yet.

i was using connected to an app on my phone at gym plus my 6X.

H10 has Ant+ and 2 Bluetooth connections. There’s a setting in Polar app from memory that seeks gym machines and mine would connect (I disabled in settings to fix). Also if H10 connects to Polar app it uses 1 connection (I removed connection as well).

Also, removing all Bluetooth connections for H10 and doing your Edge first.

several people have mentioned serious problems with 26.09 and connecting to various external devices

I have to restart my run activity 2, 3, sometimes 4 times every single morning to get it to connect my HRM-Pro and Stryd

But I've found two ways that seems to make it connect more readily some mornings

Either go into sensors and connect manually first to those external devices, super annoying but works

Or sometimes starting a Health Snapshot will auto-connect the HRM-Pro and then I can cancel that and go start the Run activity and the sensors will be connected

I would bet 26.09 turns off the radios too aggressively and doesn't poll them often enough in a quest to add battery life, which is stupid but since the #1 whine from most Garmin newbies that they have to charge it every week (as if tiny batteries are magic) I see why Garmin is doing stupid things

Bradox78 : did you find a solution in between?

I dare say that Wolfindal s point 2) might be a promising approach since I don't have any problems at all with my H10 and a test Enduro on 26.09. The strap connects fast and reliable with ANT+ whenever it is switched on. Since I set up the Enduro for testing purposed anew with 26.09 and thus had to pair the sensor with this device and at this software level for the first time. So a removal and repair might help.

I checked about the updates which came out in December 2025 & March 2026 respectively and my H10 has version 3.3.1 still (May 2024).

My H10 has firmware 4.2.0
