Need the watch to auto resume after a mid running activity crash

To summarize:

- CURRENT BEHAVIOUR:  when the watch crashes, it brings you back to the 'activity paused' screen after it reboots, as if you paused it when the watch crashed

- DESIRED BEHAVIOUR: when the watch crashes, just auto resume the activity the crash and reboot, OR make some very obvious, different sound to let me know that it crashed

Why?

This just happened to me on an ultra race.  There's nothing worse during a race (any activity really, but especially a race) to look down at your watch and see that it crashed some time ago and you lost not only a section of your run, but the timing that you rely on for things like nutrition, overall pace, and similar, as you don't know how long ago it crashed and paused itself.  This SUCKS.

Obviously the best is if it never crashed, but since it seems there will always be the chance, please, please minimize the damage caused.  Either of my suggestions would be a huge improvement

  • And yet still take the time to post here taking shots at Garmin.

You need to let it go.

Unlike others, he takes the time to genuinely help a large number of people affected by constant new bugs with advice and practical support, rather than just expressing his—somewhat smug—hope that he’s been helpful, even though he knows full well that he hasn’t. At least HIS shots taking the right direction and are grounded in real knowledge.

In my opinion, that needed to be said. And now the pointless downvoting can start all over again.
