FYI: Be aware of this one concerning map updates to 26.10

Many thanks for the information, at least the problem is confirmed by Garmin. 

Since the problem is described at least for Forerunner 970 and Fenix 8 too it remains everyones guess whether Fenix/Epix/Enduro are affected. 

It would be nice to have a statement from Garmin here to be sure. Until that happens it might be better to be save than sorry especially for users who are not so experienced with the handling of bootloops etc.

As the saying goes, “Nothing to see here, move along” while still not answering the question whether the Fenixes, Forerunners and  the likes are affected and to which extent...

I'd go so far as to say that many users of these devices would be overwhelmed by such a problem. That's why I linked to it here in the first place.

Ok, with the hints you gave concerning the Edges it should be possible for some to derive corrective action for the Fenix (and Forerunner) clones too...still some semi official statement would be appreciated.

However that's another example why updating nowadays is more risky than just to live with the bugs you know already. Btw.: while I was able to recreate those navigation bugs (no route) and crashes with my test unit on 26.09 with Topoactive maps I didn't see it with any open maps - probably for the sole reason that the OSM maps usually cover a smaller region an thus using less memory when loaded during navigation, just a guess ofc..

Do we have any news that the issue is fixed with 2026.10 maps for the Fenix? The map updates popped up in GE for my Fenix 7s but I'm afraid of installing it.

no more communication than that, for other products even if we know that watches are concerned based on customers feedback.
