How to use navigation without auto-reroot on fenix 7pro

I'm not 100% sure but I think there is. Try the routing option "follow course" instead of "use map". I don't use English on my watch so it may be named differently

I set the "Use Route" instead of "Use Map."
However, my Fenix 7 Pro navigates me along a different route when I deviate from the original route.

There might be a misunderstanding. "Follow Course" only works when you are actually following a course (like when you create a course im Garmin Connect, or import a gpx file, and select that course for navigation). If the watch calculates the route (like when you select a destination on the watch to navigate to), it will always use the "use map" setting. 

Got it. So even after starting navigation with a chosen route, we can change the options, but doing so would be pointless, right?
In the end, does that mean the Auto Recalculate feature cannot be disabled…?

How do you generate/create a course?

I don't think that changing the setting when navigation already started will affect the current navigation. 

You cannot disable the re-calculation for routes that the watch calculated. But if you follow a course (from Garmin connect, komoot or other sources), using the "follow course" navigation setting will strictly follow the planned course without re-calculation.
