Is it possible to set up up 2 different run walk activities.

On my Fenix 7 x solar I can set up (for example) 9 min run 1 min walk, but id I want the option of adding a 8 min run 2 min walk, it's not even in the menu until I delete the first. Reason, I'm doing my 1st ultra marathon soon and want the option to switch between the two. It looks like I'll have to create one mid run?

You could also set up the walk/run intervals as Workouts. As I wrote in my original post, you could set up multiple versions, and then start the one you wish to do, on given day.

You don't have to delete the original run/walk alert and add a different one, if that's what you are suggesting.

You can edit the existing run/walk alert, which might be faster.

Yeah I get it. But ironically it might take more taps/button presses to do that, as opposed to just editing the single walk/run alert. Ofc I get that it's more convenient to have multiple predefined alerts…

If you mean Workouts, then you can create as many of them as you want, though you can only keep up to 25 unscheduled workouts on the watch. The limit does not apply to scheduled workouts, though. I would also avoid scheduling two different workouts for the same day - I am not quite sure it is supported (though did not test it yet).

Hello, I didn't mean workouts. I mean the run/walk alerts within a run activity. I would like to set up 2 slightly different ones and select the one that I want depending on how fatigued I am. Apologies for the confusion.

Thank you, that's what I thought. Ideally I would like to set up 2 alerts and simply toggle each on/off depending which I need.

At the same time you could suggest to Garmin a faster way to toggle alerts on/off, like swiping on an alert in the list of existing alerts.

I have no idea if they ever read submitted ideas tho. I hate that form because there's no feedback from Garmin and no visibility in the community, but it's the "official" way to submit ideas.

I will also say that the community has been asking for certain things for 10+ years with no luck, so idk if it makes a difference whether we ask the "right" way or not.

I'm not exactly sure if this is what you are after (so forgive me if this makes no sense), but if you are talking about the run/walk alerts in the run activity's settings, you could create a copy of the run activity (and give it a descriptive name), and the have a different run/walk alert settings in the copy. And of course you could have a copy of the run activity with no alerts, too.

I'm not sure that's any more convenient than the suggested way of creating workouts, but...

I was gonna suggest that, but I was under the impression that he needs the ability to switch between the two alerts in the middle of a run.
