Audio prompts stopped with 19.38 and still broken with 19.41

I have been in the beta cycle and reported the up/down of Audio Prompts (lap stat updates over my earbuds). They were not working for a few of the 19.xx cycles, but worked fine in the non-beat release of 19.34. With 19.38, they are no longer working and the update to 19.41 yesterday did not fix it.

(I know that Audio Prompts work with my phone and earbuds, as I have them working with my Edge 540.)

OK. So, I have been tracking this more closely for Garmin and it appears the issue is with Garmin Connect getting into a state where it no longer sends audio alerts. Recently, I was on a walk and Lap 1 did not trigger. I opened my phone, killed Garmin Connect, cleared app cache, and launch Garmin Connect. Lap 2 Audio Prompt went off like expected.
I also recently had Audio Prompts fail and even the test in the Garmin Connect app did not work.

Open Garmin Connect

Select your device icon in the top right

Select your device

Select Audio Prompts

Scroll to the bottom and press Volume (this will play a test alert)
