Fenix 7 buttons - spare parts

Hello,

I encountered the same problem - the back button stopped working. The solution is simple: replace the button :). There is a microswitch (it's not part of main board) and the fix is simple. 

But I can't find this component as spare parts. The question is why doesn't Garmin have these buttons as spare parts?

    Replaced at a cost - they sell you a refurbished unit. Very disappointing to see - have been a garmin user for 4 years and had two Fenix devices with button problems. I'm likely going to try Coros now as an alternative, doesn't make sense to pay premium for garmin if their devices let you down

    We successfully repaired a friends Fenix 7X with back button problems employing the method described here:

    Also I got myself a used spare on Ebay for just 25,-  just in case.

    Disappointed with Garmin's exchange program

    My Epix Gen 2 Sapphire has developed a hardware failure: the DOWN button is completely dead, making functions like timers, alarms and some settings unusable.

    I contacted Garmin support by email and phone. I understand the watch is out of warranty, and I was not asking for a free replacement.

    What really disappoints me is Garmin's exchange program. I was offered a replacement at 25% off Garmin's official website price. Unfortunately, that still makes the offer more expensive than buying the same watch brand new from local retailers.

    If Garmin's "loyalty" offer is not even better than prices available on the open market, I honestly don't see the value of exchanging directly with Garmin.

    I expected a premium brand to offer a more compelling solution when a premium watch becomes partially unusable because of a single failed button.

    Has anyone else had a similar experience?

    Exactly the same experience. Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire here start/stop button failed after 30mins of snorkelling! 
    Washed and rinsed, soaked. Honestly i have babied this watch and it still failed. Does not match the marketing and product description of a rugged sports watch...
    2 years old and out of warranty i was offered a refurbished model at AUD418.
    Not really good enough after a hardware failure. Atleast have a work around like being able to assign other working buttons as Start/stop or to use the touch screen?
