19.34: outdoormaps+ fails to download or crashes

With 19.34 Outdoormaps+ cannot be used. Maps cannot be installed, because the device crashes or simply stops downloading after a few percent when trying to download a map.

    My 7x has downloaded the OutdoorMaps+, but they are not displayed.

    I had this issue and then now the maps won't make it past 0% no matter how long I wait.

    Hello, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with Outdoormaps+. For this, there are a few steps I would recommend trying. 

    • Ensure you are with a few feet of the WiFi connection. And avoid using the WiFi for any other items while download is in progress. 
    • Ensure the WiFi connection meets the requirements: 

      • Wi-Fi Network Requirements

        • Supported Frequency: 2.4 GHz 

        • Security: Unencrypted, WPA, and WPA2

        • Password Length: 8 characters minimum3

        NOTE: Hidden networks are not compatible.

    • Connect your watch will power while download is in progress. 
    • If the issue continues, try a hard reset. For this, hold the Light button until the watch powers off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again. 
    • If there is no change, try removing and readding the WiFi network. 
    • You can also test another compatible WiFi source. 

    If this issue continues, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.
