Best use of Fenix 7X Pro and Edge 1040 together during triathlon

Hello,

During triathlon I use Fenix 7X Pro on the wrist as main device for a event but during bike leg I also use Edge 1040. In that case, afterwards, when devices are synced with Connect I will have bike leg twice in Connect. I could erase the Edge bike activity but bike leg on the watch doesn't include all the biking data. Do anybody have experience with that matter?

  • Why don’t you use 1040 as an external display for the watch? The watch will show its datafields on the EDGE. I do use it that way on every multisport event.

  • , External display is a great feature. Unfortunately for Multisport Events using Rowing, they broke it. Ever since they introduced Stamina, the Edge is mixing up Stroke Rate with Stamina. Stroke Rate would be such an imporant feature in rowing. But Garmin does not care even after many reports. I now have this with several devices/generations...
    Otherwise for Triathlon is excellent

  • Thank You everybody for your input.

I don't really understand this fuss about extended display. During bike leg I need only cycling data and that I get from Edge. Now I got Edge and watch both connected to the power meter and everything should be OK. Power meter data will be on both devices and that's all I need.

About the only time I use Extended Display now is for a complicated Brick session (Bike-Run-Bike-Run etc).

For a simple Brick session, and for racing, I use both independently, and just discard on the Edge when I am finished.
