Fenix 7 Heart-rate not detected

Hi guys,

My fenix 7 suddently stopped reading continuous HR

Worked well all day, then when i take it of for diner, it no longer read my HR, LED measurement light are not turning either

Already disable battery saver, restart, reset, turning on-off sensor but no luck

Funny thing is, every-time i turning on-off the sensor via Garmin connect from my phone, it briefly read for about 1 sec ( show 71-73 ish, which is about my resting HR ) then show --- again

Did anyone have a workaround for this issues ?

I am sorry to hear the wrist HR is not working. For this, I would first try some initial troubleshooting steps.

Since you have already tried powercycling the watch, I would recommend trying a hard reset. For this, hold the Light button until the watch shuts off, as opposed to selecting power off. Then power this on again.
If there is no change, check in the watch menu to see if the Sensor software versions are listed. Menu, System, About, Scroll down. Look for the WHR, Sensor Hub and BMX version. If any of these are showing 0.00, this would indicate a problem with the sensor software. Use the steps below to reinstall the software:

Hold the Menu button
Select System
Select About
Press the top left Light Button 8 times
Scroll to the very bottom and select the option to reinstall the software.

Once this is completed, test the HR sensor again.

If you are sure neither the firmware reinstall, nor resetting the watch to factory defaults help, then I recommend reaching out to the Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com. It might be a hardware failure and the watch may need to be replaced.

I also have the same with F7 sapphire solar. How can that be coincidence?

The issue that I had was related to the tattoo on my left hand, which was solved by wearing it on the right hand, and it works as expected.

Did you resolve this? I had the same issue and it turns out a tattoo on my wrist was stopping HR detection. Switched the fenix 7 to my other wrist and it detects HR. Hope this helps.
