battery life is AMAZING!!

Can I just take a minute to express how utterly amazing the battery life is on the Fenix 7 SS?!  I charged my watch to 100% on 1/21.  I generally do about 80-90 min of running outside, 5 days per week.  It is now 10 DAYS later and I am still sitting at 54%.  I have multi GNSS multi band turned on.  I maybe have gotten a little sunshine, but lets be real, I am in the midwest US in January.  This thing is going to be INSANE in the summer.  Fantastic work Garmin!

I hate how so many threads are just trashing Garmin watches, half the time it seems like from non-Garmin users.  I just wanted to put this out there for balance.

  • I'm impressed with the battery life as well, without the benefit of solar charging during overcast snow days and early morning/night runs where there's no sunlight to be had.  Just closed out my first full week of owning the F7XSS and logged not quite 9 hours of total activity (63 miles between running and rowing, plus a test run of the HIIT function).  Logged 14 miles on trails Saturday with GPS set to full-crank (just because).  Battery level is at 38% now, but I didn't learn the power manager/battery saver tweaks until the middle of last week, so there's room for improvement.  One thing that bothered me was the constant backlight during the row - I had to keep switching up grip positions so the F7 wouldn't think I was trying to look at the watch face; over the course of 2 hours, that definitely put a dent in the battery.  Best of luck in the Scrooge McDuck battery ops!

  • I've had the watch for 12 days now but already charged 2x. OK, setting up is always more interaction, so more battery. I also did 1-3 hour city walks in Berlin with multiband. Other than that, I have about 40% brightness on button push only, so no gestures. I guess I have gestures for activites. I have smart notifications but mostly on DND mode. I don't really see how I will get close to 10 days. I understand the watch is still settleing in, so I'll wait and see.

  • I just got 20 days, pulseox off, notifications off, but about 18-19h of gps multi band activity’s . Charged it with 7% left.

    pretty good.

  • Battery life is really good but I'm not a heavy user. Got the Fenix 7x sapphire model : Bluetooth always on, backlight 20%, about 20 notifications a day, pulse ox off (just using a reading), so far 4 hours of GPS (run, MTB).

Battery is at 46% after 17 days. So far really impressed.

  • I last charged my 7X SS on February 25th, which was 24 days ago. Battery is currently sitting at 46% (14 days). Granted, I haven't recorded a single activity during that time, but I have used the flashlight quite a bit almost every day. Averaging maybe 30k lux hours per day.

Pretty crazy. It seems to be far exceeding the advertised 28-37 days of smartwatch mode.

  • I'm averaging 21k per hour. Maybe the solar charging is helping a lot but doesn't necessarily reflect on battery % in real time. It might work differently than we would expect.

I agree it seems to exceed what's advertised.
