Sensor battery status now in GC inc. non Garmin

This is pretty cool - could be a useful tool if you start seeing sensor drop outs

OK, my new hypothesis is that the Sensors are displayed in GCM if and only if:
- your sensor reports battery status

- you social security number's 5th digit is a prime

- the 7th digit of the sensor…

OK, did some further experimentation.

I did a ride on Tuesday (recorded on my Edge), and got a notification on my phone of a low shifting system battery (di2). I charged it that night, but had not used my bike since. Today I connected di2 to my F6, and the watch reported the battery good. However, GC still reported a low battery, even after a sync with a watch. I susbsequently went for a ride (again recorded on my Edge), and after uploading the activity, GC now reports the di2 battery at 100%.

My easter egg hypothesis is that the battery status is only written into the *.fit file when you RECORD AN ACTIVITY, and not when you just check status through the Sensors and Accessories menu.

I have 3 Tempes, 3 spd sensors, 2 cadence sensors, 3 footpods incl 1 Stryd, 3 ant+ powermeters and 1 hr strap.

I have used all of them in the last 60 days.

In spite of it only 3 are shown in this new Sensors menu, and the one with the earliest latest date is as of 7/4/2022. So technically the 90 days rule works, but logically I could not figure out which are shown and which are not.

2 Suunto footpods and 1 Powertap hub are shown right now.

Not the Garmin Gen3 HRM, not the Stryd, not another Powertap hub, not Garmin Tempes etc.

I forgot about Stryd as I barely use it but I definitely paired a Stryd to my black Fenix 6 with ANT as a footpod 3 or 4 days ago and that is missing too. Stryd was connected to the watch on the left. But nothing showed up. I did sync the activity so I could compare the gps track quality with the 255 and the other Fenix.

that makes total sense, neither the watch nor the phone should waste battery on updating just the battery info :) Still it's a strange decision to only list sensors in GCM that report battery status.

Tempes do report battery status, it happened quite a lot that my F6x warned me about it.

Stryd is a different subset, I know it reports battery level via Bluetooth, bit I paired it as ant+ sensor, and dont remember whether it sends battery status via Ant+, too.
