hint at Fenix 7?

There is nothing reliable.  People are speculating Q3 this year seeing the last three releases were in this range, and they are currently on sale from Garmin.  With supply/chip issues others are speculating Q1 next year after CES conference in January.

• Fenix 5 – March 23, 2017.
• Fenix 5 Plus – June 18, 2018.
• Fenix 6 – August 29, 2019.
• Fenix 6 Pro Solar (6/6s) – July 6, 2020.

Well, like you said, with covid / supply chain issues, all bets are off. Not much point in trying to establish a pattern based on a small sample size of pre-covid product releases.

Indeed, the recent releases of 945 LTE and Enduro would more likely indicate that Garmin has no plans for a successor in the immediate future. Like Matej787 said, probably Spring 2022 is the earliest we might see something.

First fix basic firmware issues. Like average lap pace which jumps to 2x slower each kilometer, then climbs back to normal in about a half minute. Fix communication with the users. Fix bug tracking.

What is the point in delivering new devices when elementary stuff is lacking? Losing customers in long term?

Perhaps it's a bit naughty but Garmin if you're listening, "borrow" Suunto's idea of "snap to route" for runs :)

look at venu2. Announced almost 2 months ago, still almost nowhere to be found in retail.

Agree, and wouldn't be shocked if they couldn't meet demand for months.  The point was that there is no concrete information on any release info and it is all speculation.  Hope this is right though, would like to hear some news.

While I haven't tried it myself, isn't there a "snap to road" function already in the Fenix?

That's not the way they do things, though. Garmin historically ALWAYS waits until the day of release to announce a new product.

Re: Venu 2, They're in stock everywhere I've seen, and I personally bought one (for someone else) just fine the week it was announced.

And there is! Never noticed. Would prefer snap to course as trails is where id use it most.. need to do some reading on this
