Fenix 6 Series - 15.01 Public Beta

Hello Fenix 6 customers,

Our next beta version for the Fenix 6 series is now available! v15.01 is our first beta since 14.73, there was no version 15.00.

Please ensure that you are downloading the correct beta software for your specific device.

15.01 Change Log Notes:

Adds tone and vibrate to ClimbPro climb approaching alert.
Fixed an issue where "Course Complete" may be shown incorrectly.
Fixed an issue with the units shown in PacePro split alerts.
Fixed an issue where payment cards without images were unable to be used with Garmin Pay.
Fixed an issue where sensor software update prompts were being displayed incorrectly.
Fixed a crash that could occur after the sensor software update prompt, when a CIQ watch face was also active.

Sensor Hub: 8.00
ANT/BLE/BT (Pro models): 6.11
ANT/BLE (non-Pro models): 2.11
Wi-Fi (Pro models only): 2.60

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

You do realize this is an issue with your unit specifically right. There is no battery drain "anomaly" for the majority of people here.

And don't discount other elements in the whole ecosystem. Garmin Connect, various phones and their bluetooth stacks. Overenthousiastic backlight due to wrist movement. But.. as you said. not all of us have battery problems. I for one haven't.

In 14.73 I started to have issues with bluetooth disconnect from GC. When I stop/start bluetooth in phone, they work/connect again. Maybe the problem is not related with last beta firmware but let's test this version...

Hey, thx for update. I'm relatively new to fenix family and I have 2 "general" question, about updates.

1. what system is behind software versioning here? I think is it really weird I have 13.X verrsion, and after update I have 15.01, why you dont do versioning of beta with beta tags (eg.13.1-beta.0)? Is really a big mess here, is weird to update from eg. 13.47 to 15.01 :D

2. is here some roadmap of software features? (polar communicates his roadmap with some watches)

I was hoping that the problem with the Tempe sensor, introduced with the previous beta would be fixed.

I did send in a big report but got no response.

This is the sensor this morning, it’s outside in South England and in Celsius.

Partially agreed : I never had any issue with battery drain before, but noticed post-activity drain several times with 14.72 beta... So I'm also interested in battery management of this new version.

Hi radlettrunner,

small question, are you using °c or °f ?

I'm still on the previous beta, but the tempe is showing proper values for me (tried both °c and °f), both being valid. It may worth the time to change the units, exit, change again to the proper one in case it was a corruption of the preferences.

Second Knick’s comment, the display is sensible for me. Maybe also try resetting the Tempe by taking the battery out for 5 minutes or so?
