Fenix6 @ Sauna / Spa / Wellness

Hello,

Let's begin: Are there concerns weiring the Fenix6 in a Sauna or Hamam?

I do not find any information about the max temperatures supported. So is it risky for the heath of my watch?

Are there cheaper Garmin watches which I should use and where I bother less when they break?

In fact I really like the feature "Body Battery" and I'd like to use it during wellness days where I suppose it should give me feedback about "recovering" or "draining" my personal battery. I have no idea how good this shall work by the way ;)

I would not be able to let a 600€ watch at the outside ot the sauna just waiting that me or someone else will walk away with it ;)

  • And if I were allowed to use my watch in the sauna, I wouldn't risk it. So you damage the battery by wearing it in the sauna, so your watch will live less than you would have liked.

  • You can use an app to ensure that you have a watch internal temperature field visible whilst in the sauna. 45degC is the max for the F6. Note that, for athletic recovery, existing sports medical research confirms that 7-8 minutes in a sauna is optimum. At ten minutes on the top shelf, I am seeing at most 42degC. I don't doubt that if I stayed in the sauna for 20-30 minutes, I would exceed the watch's performance specification.

  • I had a Garmin FR235 and I never took it off for the Sauna, I'd say maybe after 2-3 months, it started to act up until it would not work anymore at all. I cannot say with full certainty, that the Sauna was the problem, but since operational temperature is something like 45°C and the Sauna has 80°C or more, it is not far fetched to assume it was the reason. So now, I always take off my Fenix 6 pro before going in the Sauna.
