  • For those of you who have encountered issues with Optical Heart Rate accuracy:

As you can see from the change log notes, this version is only implementing fixes for indoor cycling. We have also been working on additional improvements for other use-cases, which should be available in the next few weeks.

We’d love for this feature to be as accurate as possible. If you are still experiencing accuracy issues with Optical Heart Rate after installing this beta update, we would like to collect some information from you to investigate further. Please email the following details to [email protected]. Please note that we may not respond to your email unless we have further questions for you.

    • Please make the subject of the email: Fenix 6 - HR Feedback - your first name
    • Under what circumstances did you encounter poor HR performance?
      • e. indoor cycling activity, all-day tracking, hiking, etc.
    • Please attach the following files to your email
      • The relevant activity .fit file, if the issue occurred during an activity
      • The GarminDevice.xml from the Garmin folder
      • The Settings.fit file from Garmin\Settings
      • All files in the Garmin\Monitor folder
      • Any pictures/screenshots/links to information in Garmin Connect that help explain the issue
    • Please also let us know if we have permission to access your Garmin Connect account. This will allow us to investigate your report faster, if we identify that other data is necessary for investigating. You do not have to grant us this permission, but doing so will allow us to be as thorough as possible in our investigation.

    Thanks,
    Mel

  • Installed Ok hand Tomorrow I will test it on Trail Running in demanding and hard environment!

  • Sweet! The only changes I care about are the stress score getting stuck at 25, and perhaps whatever "improvements for CIQ" entails. Just did the update, will report if anything seems amiss

  • So basically.you are no closer to identifying the issues?

  • Would it be possible to share a sort of "issue working list", meaning a list of issues/bugs and SW improvements where Garmin is working on?
I think this would solve a lot of frustration since most people start to complain after they got the feeling that their issue(s) are not taken seriously. Another advantage is that it helps users to distinguish known issues from new issues (the latter could mean a defective watch).

In my opinion one of the easiest problems to solve at Garmin is the lack of communication towards customers (who paid a significant amount of money to buy your product(s) ).

  • Oh my God, the new layout for editing datascreens is AMAZING. Holy crap. I wish I had this firmware when I originally set up all my activities.

You can see in real-time what the datafield will look like while you're scrolling through the list of datafields to pick from, and instead of needing to remember which field "number" you're changing and where it is, it flashes the selected field on-screen. Editing activities is night-and-day different than before now, and a 100% improvement.

  • Looks like the ANT/BLE/BT 4.30 update solved the dropouts I had with my external HRM.

  • Use the Fenix 6x Pro link.

  • Today I tested the new beta software and everything works fine except the RD Pod pairing (remove and searching to reconnect), the OHR seems to works fine too. Run activity with series and cold and rain. Link:

I like the new data screens settings... I would like to do this on the phone, like Polar and Suunto but has been warmly welcomed.
