Congratulations, you've learnt an important lesson.

Never assume that something is "indestructible". Nothing is. This is what screen protectors are for.

Lol. Previous one pretty much was. I don’t have a problem with that scratch and even if I would have assumed that it will scratch I wouldn’t use screen protector. It’s just the fact that the previous one seemed to be unscratchable with me hitting it on walls and doors multiple times by accident and I’m surprised that this one is scratched after such a short time without any serious hit in my memory. It seems like garmin used a different kind of glass for me. 

Yep, stuff happens. My bog standard 2 year old F5 has survived without any scratches (so far!).

I always thought the whole sapphire glass thing was more of a marketing ploy than anything else. 

In F5 bezel around glass was higher than in F6. Strange that you dont even remember how this has happened. I got many watches with sapphire glass and all of them are intact.

If I were in your position, I would have contacted Garmin. Sapphire glass is advertised as almost scratch proof. If your watch is not under heavy misuse, do it. 

"Almost" is the key word here...

It is advertised as diamond can only scratch your screen
