I get the same result when trying to use FaceIt with my Fenix 6X Sapphire... "Sorry, Connect IQ does not support your device at this moment". Perhaps when it was fixed for the 6, the 6X was overlooked.
I get the same message with my 6X.
To be fair, I'm glad they're instead focusing their resources on fixing the glitches some people have been having. It would be nice if FaceIt worked on the 6x, but it's not nearly as critical as, say, correct elevation and HR data. Once everyone is happy with the critical functions of the watch, then Garmin can start working on the less critical stuff like FaceIt.
For example, I'd be kind of annoyed if they had fixed FaceIt before they fixed the elevation stepping issue.

I haven't tried the FaceIt app (I actually didn't know there was one). I've only tried it in the connectiq app, which is where it says it's not compatible with my device. I personally don't really care, I wasn't planning to use faceit anyways, I was just curious to see if it worked so I gave it a try.
So it looks like they have done some work to the Face It Up for the Fenix 6X. I was able to select a picture and configure it. However, when I asked it to send it to the phone - things went very wrong. The watch is not allowing me to select any of my watch faces and the watch is showing an "IQ" error. The watch now has a generic watch face on display - not one that I even downloaded. I will be giving Garmin UK a call tomorrow - this is total madness.
Even it if was not going to allow me to install the new face to now be showing something very random is unacceptable.
If you try using the FaceIT software and experience any issues please let me know. It would be good to know if this is a general software issue on an issue with my watch.
I just tried it and it is now working for me. I can switch between the one I just made with Face It and the other watch faces on my 6X without issue.
@jlgranth - thanks for the update. I am guessing the issue is with my watch then. I have the latest software on my, phone and watch but each time I try to install a Face It image I am getting an IQ error - then I have to delete the watch face to allow me to go back. I will try switching my watch on and off to see if that makes any difference. I have also plugged my watch into my laptop to make sure it has all of the latest updates. I sync and downloaded new maps so I guessing it is as up to date as is going to be.
Can I ask what phone you have and are you on Andriod or IOS? I am using a Samsung Galaxy S10+ with my Garmin 6X Sap.
