Every time I engage ski mode (and go skiing) it locks up. Have to do a 30 second hold reset. Have tried a bunch of variations. Nothing solves it. Garmin please fix. Device is coming back to you within a week otherwise.

Hi everyone,
We are aware of one bug that can cause a crash at high altitudes. Starting in our v4.65 beta update, we included a fix for this crash. (Our current beta version is now v4.67.) In reading these…
Good news. I upgraded my Fenix 6x to 5.0 this morning and went skiing. 3 hours, 9 runs, 3200 masl max. The ski mode worked like a charm. It didn‘t freeze. Thanks for fixing this.
anyway this is ridiculous because in cervinia, at the arrival of one of the chairlifts, there is a mega advertising: GARMIN FENIX 6 MADE FOR SKIING
Maybe you should file a bug report or send an e-mail to garmin support.
Even for a new model as Fenix 6 it's not clear how this forum is monitored by Garmin...
Crap. One of the reasons I purchased. Waiting impatiently for Killington to open. Please keep this updated.
Have filed a support case ..no response.
I have the exact same issue ! 3 days now. Any fix yet?
Are you on iOS or Android.
I have the same problem but in the hiking mode. Sometimes the watch freezes and sometimes restarts. Garmin replaced my watch. But it didn't help.
Do you use any CIQ data fields, CIQ app for tracking the hike or manually installed maps? If you do I would recommend to remove them and try with default fields, app and maps.
I bought a Polish topographic map from a distributor. Original maps are not precise in Poland. I had to manually send it to my watch. I have also manually configured hikking activity screens.
Same here, fenix 6 freezes while my old 5+ recorded all the time perfectly, did anybody get an answer from Garmin?
No! I returned my original unit (after talking to Garmin) they said they had no other cases logged?
Anyway I have a new 6 now - but have not skied with it yet. I am hoping this fixes it, but I have my doubts as my Fenix 5 worked great - never had any issues... I hope this is not software, but if is I hope they fix it soon.
