Out of warranty repairs? Watch died a week out of warranty!

Hey all, any idea what to do if your Garmin dies immediately outside of warranty? I'm really annoyed - my Fenix 5S Plus is now dead (I've done all the troubleshooting, resetting etc) and it's only a week out of warranty, and there appears no way to get them repaired. These watches are too expensive to be thrown in the bin after 12 months. I have reached out to Garmin and got no response at all. Any help would be appreciated. I'm in Australia if that makes a difference.

I would say that you should not go down that road where you replace the battery yourself. Garmin usually offers a replacement unit for devices just out of warranty for a quite low price.

Give your local Garmin support a call and I am sure that they can help you.

Thanks. I did end up calling and get through to them. They are apparently backlogged at the moment which is why they never responded to my online form enquiries. I've now commenced a troubleshooting process with them that will hopefully resolve this satisfactorily. FYI, one of the things they mentioned was that the watch should always be charged from a laptop, not a wall charger, which was new info for me.

You are fine charging our watches either from any computer USB port or a wall USB adapter from a reputable company. I am sorry you were given wrong information.

Penso che Garmin dovrebbe adottare la stessa politica di assistenza dell'Apple, dato il prezzo di vendita del prodotto. Anch'io ho lo stesso problema al mio fenix 5x plus e spendere ulteriori soldi per la riparazione e spedizione non mi va.

Not sure what you really mean. Garmin is actually offer better service than Apple if you ask me. If you have a dead device out of warranty then you are often offtered a replacement unit for a good price.
