  • After upgrading from 16.72, my Fenix 5 Plus is getting stuck on "Loading Maps" on startup for just under 3 minutes.  Happened on the first reboot after the upgrade, and is happening on any subsequent reboots.  Once it eventually makes it past that stage it appears to work, but any map operations (even just viewing a map and panning/zooming) is incredibly slow.

    Anyone else seeing this?

Update: Reinstalling the maps using Explore fixed it.  I can't be certain this was caused by the upgrade, but the last time I restarted the watch was only a few days ago and it didn't have the problem then, so it seems likely it was...

  • I don' t exactly know the reason - but this also happend on earlier releases, that the first reboot took several minutes. I am usually letting it stay for for 15-20 mins and then it works just fine, or do as you just re-install the maps.
