Hello Fenix 5/5S/5X Plus users,

We have new beta software ready for your upcoming adventures!

Note: Please allow for the updates to propagate across all servers. There is no need to post that the link does not work. It will after a bit of patience.

14.72 Change Log Notes:

  • Fixed an issue where screenshots generated from device did not look right.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue with Livetrack.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue where the device may freeze while using Garmin Pay.

Please note, the beta updates released on these forums are not suitable for APAC region devices.

    I know not mentioned in the change log - but does not appear to have resolved the Physio TrueUp / syncing with Edge 1030 issue.

    I did reply to the suggested email, but also wanted to comment here that this did not fix my livetrack issue on a Fenix 5S Plus.  The Livetrack starts, the email gets sent, but my location is not shown on the map.

    I had that too at one time and fixed it by doing this whole sequence: uninstall Garmin Connect from the phone, remove the Fenix from the phone's Bluetooth devices list ('forget device'), reboot phone, reboot Fenix, reinstall Connect, sign in Connect, add device. Part of that may not be necessary but it did work.. at that time. No guarantee it works again today..

    Thank you Beta team for the continued development for the Fenix 5 Plus.

    I used to always install and test every beta because I enjoyed being a very small part of the development and test efforts, but have become a bit squeamish, and this time will await other people's experiences before installing myself.

    If anyone gets a chance: is the course scrolling bug gone? It's a minor issue, but trips me up every time thinking 'something is weird here' while looking up a course.

    Another workaround that may work is: setting LiveTrack in the app to NOT auto-start, and then every time after you have selected an activity on the watch, and have GPS lock, but before you actually start the activity on the watch, going into the GC app and starting Live Track from the app. Tedious, but better than no LT at all.

    Installed 14.72, and course scrolling bug still there. This minor annoyance must have been snowed under somewhere deep down on the devteams backlog..

    No other findings after a few days, made limited use of the watch (only runs) but everything working OK.

    Update after another week: To solve persistent phone connection problems (don't think beta related): I deleted all user files on the watch, reset to factory defaults, didn't restore any settings/locations/FIT files, moved other Garmin devices to another account on another phone. Everything OK now, Livetrack, GPS tracks, maps. Just that 'course scrolling bug' is still there.
