Laurie ,it’s fine as it is and thank you for clarifying it
Thought my Epix was having problems with morning report until I found this thread! I've just got a recertified one and thought I might have to reach out to Garmin again. Glad it's not just me, and hopefully…
Yes, Garmin is not doing a great job in post customer service. After the got our money they just forget about their customers putting all effort into the new products like Fenix 8.
All those software issues should have been mainly solved two years after release! It's a shame!
I don't think this is true at all. It isn't a case that customers are forgotten, more a case that the development team or their methodology is just not very good. The new products are no better if you look at the forum section for the Fenix 8
And it is not a case that "software issues should have been mainly solved two years after release", the vast majority are. The problem is that one fix, or a new feature, breaks something else.
Mightbe you're right. But since I have bought my Epix Pro half a year ago I had a lot of software issues.
And you're right, some of them were solved but always new bugs, sometimes more severe, were introduced.
And it's not important to me wether Garmin has bad software development methodology ir if they just don't put their effort into their new devices and forget about their old customers.
What's important to me is that they solve at least the severe software problems really fast in a month or two, but they don't, they don't try or they don't want to or they just aren't able to, it's not important, they just don't solve the software problems!
Still facing morning report swipe issues
So, to you does not happen everyday? I think for me is every day (not that I consider this a big nuisance).
It appears that the morning report 'bug' got worse with this most recent update. Now, in addition to having to double press to unlock the morning report, you have to button press instead of being able to swipe through the screens.
I’m able to swipe…after a single push on the button. Go figure…
I’m on 18.14.
I too am still able to swipe after a down button press, both on 8.14 and now 8.16.
Still have to press the button though...
Thinking it over, maybe it’s a (change of) feature, in case us, unintentionally, touch the screen and start the report…
But I use touch for everything so I prefer the “normal” way…
No it is not a deliberate feature change. Garmin were requesting reports from users to help identify the cause almost 3 months ago. This topic has been raised several times since, so if it was a deliberate change they could just post a simple note on any of the related threads simply stating that fact. It is definitely a bug. I preferred the old way too, but it is probably a relatively minor bug for most people compared to some other problems that currently exist.
