Unfortunately nap detection is hopeless and seems to use a low resting HR + lack of movement to falsely detect naps. Loads of us when testing the beta commented in the bug trackers.

The roll out of the naps feature has been awful. It’s hard to believe that after people had been asking for it for so long they’d roll it out without proper testing.

Another false nap today with a clear correlation to lowering HR and not moving about
This happens almost daily - I did NOT have the alledege energising nap! I was working at my laptop.

There should be a way to turn it off. I am working at my desk and it thinks I am napping. I have to take it off to stop this and that defeats the purpose of a wearable.
My false naps often come when I’m not even wearing the watch so it’s not measuring my HR.

It’s making many of the features useless to me now as they’re based on incorrect information. Not only is my heart rate low so it records naps when I’m working but it also records naps when I’m not even wearing the watch!! The ability to delete and adjust naps is an absolute must have. If they don’t fix this soon I’ll seriously consider moving away from the Garmin ecosystem.
Have to agree. At least let it be an option we can turn off.
update to my initial post, not to just allow us to turn off bbut to delete or even edit? Please Garmin this is ruining the whole experience
I agree that the nap detection feature seems to be not overly smart. I don't understand what it is using to "detect" a nap. If it's the heart rate, surely the Garmin knows that my resting heart rate is very low to begin with, so if I am sitting still and have a heart rate of 55, surely it knows that I could be just reading or using my lap top. If it can't tell the difference between laptop use and napping, they should just remove the feature. It's silly.
Mightbe that your workaround is "solving" the problem somehow.
But it feels like having a great car and you always remove the wheels when you're parking and mounting them again when you want to drive again. Great premium product!
This has happened to me almost every day during the week. It didn't replace my sleep this morning, but said that I took 2 naps in a row totaling almost 2 hours right after I woke up. The wearable I used previously let me delete false naps/sleep. It would certainly be a nice feature to have.
Hi. Same issue with me. Resting HR 42. My Epix 3 interprets reading or watching TV as naps. Have Garmin now have a way to disable naps? Cheers
