Screen dimmed automaticly while cycling (Epix on the handlebar)

you know, that i thought exactly the same yesterday when i had my first bike ride.

i went through all the settings and there is no way to leave AOD at the same brightness without the auto-dim.

although i have no idea how the watch behaves and randomly it brings up the brightness.

It is a problem that Garmin needs to solve. I hope that they will catch this topic and add a function for this at the next update.

When the screen dims, always dims to the same intensity regardless of the brightness level you have selected previously?

yes, it goes into lowest level of brightness

And in your opinion when the screen dims you are not able to see it if it is sunny?

It is Gergely that says that. i can confirm that it's going into low brightness therefore if it is very sunny it gets kinda difficult to see at.

I carefully checked it today. Simon is not correct in this. Epix has a LUX sensor and the brightness setting is just a relative value, Epix adjust itself according to the sunlight and according to the setting. If there is total sunglight out there, Epix will push up the screen brightness too and dims from that point - let's say it dims it to half to the normal brightness. If there are clouds, it starts from a lower brightness level and dims from there (to a lower value). Anyway it doesn't dim to the same level while there is total sunlight and while there is partly cloudy sky. Unfortunatelly it is barely readable in sunlight and barely readable in cloudy sky too (while dimmed). I attach an example for the dimmed screen while activity is ongoing. (But it is very important to state that it is perfect in any condition if you activate the screen with a gesture. But unfortunately you can't activate it on the bike if it is mounted to the handlebar...)

It brings up the brightness when the micro-movements seems like a gesture. But unfortunately it rarely and totally randomly happens.

Mmm... I use my FR945 as a bike computer (mounted in the handlebar) and I was considering whether to get the Epix 2 or not. but it seems that this is a big no.
