Adding another data point here.

Device: Descent Mk III

Firmware: 25.21

Music source: Offline Spotify on watch

Headphones: Anker Soundcore Sport X20

I was in the middle of an active running activity with GPS active and music playing from Spotify directly on the watch. I pressed the rewind/previous-track button combination on the earbuds and the watch immediately crashed/restarted.

The watch displayed the blue triangle boot screen and rebooted quite slowly. It did eventually come back up and resumed the activity afterward. This is the first time I have experienced this and the timing strongly suggests it was triggered by the headset media-control command.

Worth noting:

- This happened from the earbud controls, not from pressing controls on the watch itself.

- I was actively recording a run at the time.

- Spotify was already playing normally before the reboot.

- No previous instability issues on this watch.

- This occurred on firmware 25.21, so the issue may still exist beyond the originally reported 25.11 builds.

Since the Descent Mk III shares platform similarities with the Fenix/Epix family, I thought this report may help correlate the issue across devices.

25.11 update: Watch resetting on Spotify song skip

Ever since the 25.11 update my Enduro 2 has been resetting randomly, both during activities and not, when skipping forward on Spotify via my earbuds or when a song ends and moves to the next song. This doesn't happen when skipping forward using the watch button. So far I've tried resetting the watch, re-pairing the earbuds, reinstalling Spotify, and trying different earbuds (Bose QCE (2024) and Anker Space A40) to no avail. Is anyone else having this issue or have any other ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

if this occured after applying TopoActive 2026.10, try this Edge workaround (but without specific OS fix for our F7 Series devices)

I hope one day garmin will just fix it for good, I tried many ways including even emailing their CEO. They do not care, generic responses. Good luck, I stopped using music

This is still happening to me only Epix Pro 2 running 26.09. Any time I skip a song via Shokz headphones it reboots the watch, which is less than ideal in the middle of long workouts.

Hi,

For some reason (after update 17.1) my wife’s phone has started to voice audio prompts of POI’s on a course we’re following.

It’s an iPhone and had Garmin Connect closed at the time.
I’ve check a few settings and they’re the same as mine though mine didn’t start talking to me on our run!!

Any idea where this option would be? Thanks.

I update my watch few days ago and audio prompt for POI turn on again ! However, everything is disabled ! It happened to me first time two years ago and now come back with new update.

Garmin why you change our preferences after an update ! This is so annoying.

Right now, I have also new problem with navigation after the update. He cannot find path ... Imagine you're hiking and you cannot come back to home and you change nothing in confirmation.

Today we started the rollout of Software Version 26.09, currently we are at 20% with this rollout and we will increase the % as time goes by.

Added Rally 110/210 Support.
Fixed an issue where setting a custom GPS configuration for certain activity profiles would not save.
Fixed an issue where text in the Solar Intensity widget was missing a proper translation.
Fixed an issue where the compass calibration tutorial video would sometimes not display.
Fixed an issue where the Daily Suggested Workout would sometimes display invalid data for the target type.
Fixed an issue where the Stages Power Meter would sometimes not pair.
Fixed an issue where the text listing the estimated Training Effect did not fit on the screen when the watch is configured to German.

Joining the beta program and updating the watch seems to have worked for me (OP) on Enduro 2. Two workouts with no watch reset when skipping songs via earbuds.

Problem with wireless connections

I had an update the other day and I think that messed with the watch's wireless connections. I think it was the update to 25.11 but I'm not sure. But I discovered the problem when I tried to broadcast my heart rate to my Edge 130 Plus. When I press Start/Stop to start the broadcast the heart goes read and then a second later goes grey and stops the broadcast. After that I discovered it couldn't connect to my phone anymore. I have tried everything I could think of - resetting the watch, deleting and reinstalling the app, it's removed from the phones bluetooth menu - and nothing worked. When I try to pair it with the phone, the watch just says Initializing until it fails. I have then tried to see if it can connect to my external heart rate strap, and it can't find that either - the strap can be seen by other devices.

It seems to me like something is screwed up with my watch's wireless connections.

Wireless version is 28.27, Wireless status is 7 and Sensor hub is 35.10

Have anyone else had this problem? I've searched but can't find anything that resembles my problem.

MNyrup - let's try reinstalling the software on your watch:

1. Press and hold the middle left button to access the main menu
2. Scroll to System and select
3. Scroll to About and select
4. Press the light/power key 8 times in quick succession
5. From this menu, scroll to Reinstall SW and select

Please give that a try and let us know how it goes, including what the Wireless Status shows.

I’m having the same issue on my Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar. Watch reboots mid activity when skipping track on Spotify App from Bose Soundsport Bluetooth headphones controls.

I have been having this with the 7x pro sapphire solar. I have a support case raised but not a lot of help with support, just asking for crash files.

Has anyone received a fix?

6 weeks out from my marathon and it's making me a little nervous..

I am waiting for a fix for this issue as well. I don't understand why it wasn't fixed because the same music reboot bug was also happening on the Forerunner 970 and they fixed it already.🤷‍♀️

I also wanted to check back in and let you all know that this issue is still actively under investigation. Our team continues to review reports of devices restarting or powering off when skipping music tracks using Bluetooth headphone controls. I'm having this issue on a Fenix 7x Sapphire Solar too. It's sporadic but semi-repeatable. The earbuds are Sennheiser Sport True Wireless. Firmware version is 25.11.

Btw there are still the same sw versions to be advised depending on one’s needs: 15.77, 16.22 or 17.28.

It is better to accept it than fighting against a consistently terrible other party who could make the situation better.
