I wore a Fenix 6s for almost 2 years and never showed signs of wear on the rim. Now not even 2 weeks into using my descent mk2s it already shows wear. I haven’t dropped it or hit it with anything…
Pretty bad quality for such and expensive watch..

The DLC coating is rubbish on the MK2i.. I had mine for 2 months and it was wearing through.. then I had a bump into a doorway which drastically scratched the Bezel.. the DLC layer is so thin and weak…
as you can see a catastrophic scratch from a door closing onme quickly..not a serious knock nor what I would expect from a titanium watch.. I have an old rip curl titanium watch which has marks on it but…
Ironically the cheaper Mk2 stainless steel model seems to be more durable. Mine still looks good after a lot of hard use.
My crystal now has a mysterious scratch on it. In addition, the body picks up more and more scratches all the time. I'm still happy with the watch and think of these as "battle scars". If I didn't adopt that mental strategy, I'd be rather unhappy.
Do you have photo?
It has to be different quality per batches as Mine is more than 1 year old and no scratch at all on the coating, and I even have scratch in the sapphire glass happened during drives (rocks, steel, etc)

this looks and has the strength and durability of alloy!
Wow, this is bad. I am sure that there has to be some variance on the coating quality . Titanium is softer then steel in general that's why a hard coating is a must (same for aluminium)
(Btw alloy is a mixture of different metals , it can be aluminium / titanium / stainless steel alloy, etc )
Is it possible to change this ring or something similar? I bought one lastweek, did not use for scubadive only in the office and the black rim worn off after a week. Is there any solution for that?
There is one on mk2 forum pages
Can you give a link?

I also scratched the watch case on the nylon strap of the buoyancy compensator.
It really seems that there is a big variance between batches.
My mk2i is with me for more than 1,5 years 7/24 dives, sports everything and not even a small single scratch. Looks as new.
The glass has two small scratches only visible tilted on bright sun , got it during diving.
