T1 not connecting underwater

I am on a live aboard currently and an extremely frustrated with T1. It worked only first couple of dives and later it works normal at the surface via ANT but as soon as I descent below few meters, connection is gone for good. No reading throughout entire dive. As soon as I am back at the surface, it works ok.

Obviously AI unit that does not work underwater is pretty much worthless. I set it to max power, replaced the battery. Last night updated my mk2i to 8.20, still no success. Firmware on t1 is 2.50.

so what now?

Hi there

I'm having exactly the same issue. Works perfectly at the surface but once I dive I lose connection. Garmin thankfully replaced my T1 twice. But I'm still having the same issue with 3 T1 transmitters.

to doubt that the problem might be from the Mk2i itself.

However, in My last dive I removed the watch from my hand and placed it next to the T1, it was connected good. The moment I put on my hand I lose connection again.

Anyone can help with a solution?

Btw, battery replaced, software updated and power set on max

Hey MFairaq,

I was having the same problem until I switched the location of the T1 on my First stage. It was originally located on my right side but I wear my watch on the left arm. Once I moved the T1 to the left the problem solved itself. Have you tried that?
