Altitude not correct in aircraft

I've recently bought a Descent Mk2 and loving it - however, when skydiving and using jumpmaster, the altimeter only shows the elevation at ground level and not the altitude of the aircraft as it climbs to jump altitude.

I've tried setting it to Altimeter mode, but this doesn't solve the problem.

Any thoughts on how to fix? Or is this a known issue?

Thanks very much, sis651 and atj777 - as atj777 says, the aircraft for skydiving isn't pressurised, so this won't be causing the issue.

Jumpmaster already has an 'Elevation' field, but I've created…

I notice the same problem while flying. To me, this is a bug. It looks the altitude algorithm is wrong.

Inside an aircraft barometric altimeter may not show the correct altitude as the pressure inside the aircraft is controlled.

You can add GPS altimeter data field to your activity and check it.

And maybe calibrate the altimeter to GPS and let it record during the jump. However, I've never do such and activity so I don't know what's really possible and not.

Jumpmaster already has an 'Elevation' field, but I've created a new data screen with both 'GPS elevation' and 'Elevation' side-by-side see what they do - I will let you know when I next jump.

Maybe this is a stupid question - in that elevation that the watch tracks is only ever supposed to be ground level elevation, but this doesn't seem quite right if a jumpmaster app is included (or in any event really) - a barometric altimeter should register altitude gain in an aircraft.

Any thoughts from anyone else very much appreciated!!!

I have the same problem. The watch is consistently showing a wrong altitude. Usually is showing 10x the correct altitude.

For example, I leave +- 100m above sea level and it shows 900m. Even at the beach it shows this kind of altitude figures...

Have you tried calibrating the altimeter? you should try that, go check page 119 in the user manual

I did, and it works. But after a while it gives a wrong data again. Currently, it's been almost a week with accurate altimeter. Fingers crossed.
