Don't sync dives to Strava

Garmin could you please disable syncing dives to Strava? Strava doesn't even support scuba diving so they just show up as generic "Workout" activities without even a map or anything. It's rather pointless.

Sorry for taking this post back from the past, but I am trying to request Strava that they support Scuba and free diving, along with synchronization with Garmin.

Yeah, my dives never go to MyFitnessPal but my runs and walks, do (usually).

You will probably need to ask for some filter at Strava. Garmin has a standard interface (API) for countless 3rd party services similar to Strava. The API offers those 3rd parties the access to all your activities, and it is up to the 3rd party to choose whether they need to use them all (for example MFP needs all), or only some of them (for example only running activities). Garmin cannot remove certain types of activities from the API just because of Strava, because it would have immediate impact on any other 3rd party using the API, too.

In contrary, on the recipient's side is it trivial to implement a filter, and reading only those activities that make sense for given service. And some services indeed do it. Hard to tell why Strava imports even activities it does not recognize, but I recommend contacting their support, and suggesting them to make the change.

Thanks for explaining the API. I submitted a support ticket to Strava, although considering how little effort they put into maintaining that site I doubt they'll do anything to fix it.

can i ask for mk2i owner.. when u do run / bike activity. and it sync automatic into strava.. do it show the device mk2i in the strava apps?

coz when use garmin fenix 3.. it shows in strava apps that i use fenix 3.. but it didn't show garmin mk2i

I have a Mk2 and the device doesn't show up in Strava. I actually opened a support ticket with Strava for that but as usual they never responded. They probably have to do something on the back end to enable it.

I think Strava has to add it. Not a Garmin problem.
