Bluetooth disconnected

I’ve just been playing around with the dive activity. I then realised about 10 mins later that the watch was disconnected. Does anyone know if that would be the reason? I’ve had the watch for 5 days and it’s disconnect itself twice. Can’t work out why

Ok, after a few days (post re-pair and reset) I’m still seeing that I’m not receiving all notifications. It seems to be an issue with intermittent BT connectivity. I’ve narrowed it down to when BT is out of range, it does not auto reconnect when it gets back into range. Thoughts/ advice?

I think there are bluetooth settings in developer section of android you can tweak to allow intermittent bluetooth sniffing and connection, bt on garmin is a mix of bt 5 and 4 as i understand it, not typical bt 5 standard

That does not really happen here on the user forum, and it is also not its purpose. And when it exceptionally happens that a Garmin employee chimes in, then he mostly just advises to contact the local Customer Support, which is indeed the best way to get the direct help from Garmin.

I had similar issue... but I went to my phone and Bluetooth settings (iOS) and told it to connect, which it did. Which makes me not certain it’s a Garmin issue, or Apple issue...? I’m sure each will blame the other.

Also, I have noticed that iOS notifications won’t show up if you have them set to “never show preview”. I presume it’s Apple’s way of protecting privacy for users of 3rd party devices. They can’t control how a third party will use the notification, so if it’s set to never show preview, they don’t allow that notification to go to your Garmin watch. I’ve used this to turn off certain notifications from getting to the watch.

Quick update, after going the rounds with Garmin technical support they ended up coming to the realization that it is likely a device issue and have decided to send a replacement. For such a large company that’s pretty phenomenal level of service, very excited about that.

That is good to hear!

In my experience with Garmin, while their general support is fairly poor, they do step up quickly when there's a hardware fault and replace the device.
