Garmin Descent MK1 blue triangle boot loop

I'm in Cozumel on a dive trip.

First dive of the trip my descent crashed and black screened half way through the dive and is now in a continuous what seems like 5-10 minute cycle of boot looping with the Blue Triangle appearing for 1-20 seconds then disappearing.

Device was almost fully charged when this occurred.

I did the hold the power button for 30 seconds to shut down. Now nothing. Just a black screen.

If the method on that thread doesn't work try to do this one:

Hey sad to know about your watch getting stuck.

Maybe this would help:

- If you are not capable of turning off the watch do the following:

*Simultaneously press the power, down and back button. This shall force the watch to turn off.

*Turn back on normally and shall go to your watch face.

- If you are capable of turning it of but it always goes to the diagnostics try to do like this:

*Turn off like normal then wait for it to shut down completely.

*Press the power, down and back button, the garmin logo will come on and then a black screen with a QR code plus a bunch of text information at the bottom. When you see this screen release the buttons.

*You will enter in a self testing mode. Then navigate with the back button until you reach a menu that prompts you to press and hold the power key to disable forced test mode. make sure that the forced test mode is disabled.

*Press the back key again to get out of that menu you will reach the QR code menu and simply press the power button to shut down.

*Then press the power button to turn on like normal.

I tried this and plugged it back in and got a blue triangle then black screen. Everytime I plug it in the charger I get the blue triangle then nothing

Well maybe your option is to try and do a hard reset on it.

Here is this article with different procedures and options on how to perform it even if the watch is not fully booting.

Here is the follow up:

After the boot loop and trying to shutdown/recover it went completely bricked. No power, no screen display etc. Ended up having to get a RMA for the device.
