Anyone else had problems with altimeter calibration on the G2? I have now had two of these watches and the altimeter has failed on both within 6 months.

I recently purchased the G2 and I love it so far. However, there is one feature which I think may not be working properly. When I try to enter navigation mode or look at maps during apnea or apnea hunt mode it seems I am not able to do it. In the manual it says the map should be available in the data screens but it is not (link to manual). I have tried fiddling with the settings for quite a long time. The closest thing I have been able to do is while in the water, exit apnea mode and enter navigation mode. This works but seems to be a bit hacky.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Flicking lines - 25.21

Hi there,

After I updated to 25.21, my two G2 watches have two vertical flicking lines. They are quite noticeable on the morning summary screen, or on light-coloured background. Is there anyone has the same issue with me? Should I roll back the version?

Activities only for one year CSV?

I would like to ask/know if it is possible to download more than one year CSV file for the activities? For the reports, I can only pull back up to one year worth of data. Does anyone have this issue or how can I download ALL my historic data?

all electronics purchased in EU have 2 year warranty minimum guaranteed by consumer laws

i bought this on Garmin Slovenia

it got shipped from Netherlands by Garmin Nederland

Invoice is by Garmin Europe LTD Southampton UK

this means it's only 1 year, right? I fully expect an american company to try and screw their own customers by finding loopholes for every god damn thing they can

Why Such a Battery Penalty with G2?

Why does the dive capability of the G2 carry such a heavy battery penalty compared to the Instinct 3 (I get 4 days v 6 days with always-on), whereas IIRC the G1 and Instinct 2 have comparable battery life with each other, and the introduction of diving functionality to the Fenix 8 didn't seem to take a hit on the battery life compared to the Fenix 7?

Optical sensor not working

It just stopped one day. Doesn't measure heart rate and the light also does not flash.

There's like a hundred threads about this with zero solutions as far as I checked.

Is this a software issue or hardware issue and needs to be sent back for warranty ?

Fixed several issues with the inReach remote, especially when paired with newer inReach devices.
Fixed being unable to access inReach SOS pages while the device is passcode-locked.

MK3 Watch face gone after software update

I had been using a watchface style on my Descent G2, it was a hand and dial dispaly that said Descent MK3 at the top just under the 12:00 position, it gave me all the information taht I wanted to see and loked the best one I had found but after the latest round of software updates it has disapeared. Is there any plan to bring it back or any idea how I can recreate it as none of the premade templates seem to have the same number of information areas to edit. Thanks

Dial Broken after update 23.27

Hi, after updating to version 23.27. My watch face is entirely dark, just minute and hours hands with no data.

Tried to reset it and re-customise but found that the dial customisation feature is missing. Seems a bug caused by the update.

I seem to recall that when I first looked through the available activities in my Descent G2, there were also flying activities. Now, a few weeks later, I can't find anything. Were they removed with a software update, or is my memory deceiving me?

[BUG] Custom workout no longer takes weight into an account

I created a custom workout in Connect app on Android. Pushups, sit-ups and dumbbell exercises. 3 sets of each. Also entered weights and synced to my watch.

During the workout, when you complete the set, it asks you how many repetitions you did, and in the next step you can enter weight which is prefilled from the save workout.

At the end of the workout, it showed how many sets you completed and total weight.

This worked. Last update broke this.

On my phone, in Connect app, weights are still there but during workout, it says 0.0 and total doesn't get calculated in the end of workout.

I tried syncing workout again to my watch and deleted the old one but it doesn't help.

These are community forums and absolutely nobody form Garmin will ever read this right ? Since this is like my 3rd thread and all of them have zero replies.

Last update also reset my watch face and I had to set it up again.

CAN YOU FIX THIS PLEASE AND STOP BREAKING THINGS ????

Incorrectly recognized CCR mode

I went for a swim, do some apnea diving but the watch incorrectly started in ccr mode and i couldn't exit and change mode while in water.

I tried pressing all the buttons as well as holding them for several seconds and i couldn't exit the mode and restart in apnea mode

Most times correctly started in apnea mode but not this time

How can i exit ccr mode in such scenario?

Descent G2 – Map Not Showing in Apnea Surface Screens

Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with my new Descent G2 watch. In both the Apnea and Apnea Hunt apps, the map/navigation screen doesn’t show up during surface intervals.

In the dive setup, the map is enabled (set to “on”) under Surface Screens, but it’s still not appearing on any of the surface displays during the activity.

Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a fix?

I’m on firmware version 19.50 and located in Australia (in case that matters).

Tide display on screen

On my descent G1 I could display de tide in a graphical way to have more information than simply the next high or low tide (see image) is it possible to have the same on G2?

Ascent value freez during hike mode

During hike the total ascent freez (but altitude still work) sometimes during more than 10 min.. and sometime stop to work

Altitude continue to work but no corrélation with the total ascent

Descent seems ok

I try to change the case in the watch face but didn't work

I just checked the comparison against I3 Amoled (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/compare/?compareProduct=1316397&compareProduct=1558977) and it seems that G2 is lacking these:
- REST TIMER
- LOAD RATIO
- TRAINING LOAD FOCUS
- WORKOUT BENEFIT
- MULTISPORT AUTO TRANSITION

Will those software features come at later time or this is permanent?
