APAC version is still stuck on 11.26

Since the next update is 15.08, I wonder if APAC users will ever get 16.10 at this rate? Unless Garmin is planning to end support for the G1; sadly, I just got my G1 Solar last month. This experience is truly disappointing, I had gotten the G1 expecting to access the latest software. This may be my last Garmin.

    I guess all this info is really interesting and all. But our request remains that Garmin should sort this out for its users across the world and not have users who bought their products from a particular region being left behind with older software. Doesn’t make sense for customers to have to sieve through all these region info.

    They already sorted it out - AFAIK, all new models come in the true WW version (supporting all languages on the same device), since the hardware already allows it.

    At some recent and at most past models, there is unfortunately no solution possible, except of the unacceptable delaying of the public release of the RoW firmware for couple of months till the APAC headquarters finish porting of the firmware to the additional languages. It is lengthy especially because of the memory limitations, making the porting to languages with high demand on memory for the fonts (like the Chinese) rather challenging.

    Oh thanks, this is helpful info to know! I guess I really do regret buying an older model. But nice to know that this will no longer happen for future models!
