It is annoying that the mk1 showing ????? for notification that has Asian characters.

It doesn't make sense for a flagship smartwatch to still have restrictions showing multiple languages nowadays. From what I know, other brands like Samsung or Apple watches don't have this kind of restriction.

I am not asking to change the system language to Chinese or other Asian languages but at least to display the Asian character whenever I receive messages not in English,

I am considering the new descent MK3 in Australia market if it can show Asian characters e.g. Chinese. Otherwise, I might look for other smartwatches for daily and diving use.

I cannot even tell you how often I was needing to charge it for the last four years, but it's now dead after 48 hours with no activities in this time. I have not changed any of the features that are enabled in the last two years.

I did the live chat thing, and Garmin want me to commit to a potential "repair" bit of £540 before they'll look at it.

I get that it is out of warranty, but this is not a fair contract. I want a new battery not a replacement of a four year old watch.

It cannot surely be right that they can demand this kind of money to change out the battery on what was a VERY EXPENSIVE watch when I bought it four years ago.

I have a Marq Aviator (gen 1) that I've had for some years now and I am very happy with. I do a lot of swimming, in fact this is my primary sport other than strength training. I use my Marq every time for every single swimming session. As you know however, wristwatches just don't monitor Heart Rate that well, and they are especially bad at it for swimming. So you need an external Heart Rate Monitor. Now here's the problem: the ones that Garmin offers at the moment just don't cut it (chest or biceps straps aren't the best). My swim coach, who is former Olympic athlete (Athens 2004) and trains a lot of young prodigies, actually uses an external HRM (from a different brand) for himself and all his students, which you can place under your cap (next to your temple) or attach to the strap of the swim goggles. So I decided to get one of those. After some initial struggles, I managed to understand how it pairs with my Marq and now I can do it no problem. It can track my HR during other activities (such as "Cardio" or "Bike Indoor") without issues, and once I finish those activities and save them, the HR history is saved and I can look at time in zones etc. However, when the same external HRM is paired for a "Pool Swim" activity, the Marq simply refuses to record the HR. I changed the Data Screens of "Pool Swim" so that I can see my actual HR and I confirmed this morning that it is, indeed, working - the HRM is transmitting data and the Marq is picking it up during the activity, while I am in the pool. But when I finish the session, Garmin simply discards all the HR data! It is not being tracked or saved in any way. The "HR Zones" are all blank. :-( Why is this? And how can it be solved?

It'd be great if I could look at all my swim workouts and study all my HR zones throughout... This is essential to become a better swimmer. :-)

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

MARQ gen 1 GPS inaccurate in swim

can someone in the UK help with the best settings for OWS using a Marq gen 1? After the next class, the watch face was completely reset and now only Widget (any) is installed on the times, when installing the watch face, the screen freezes after loading maps, although the watch works, counts steps, synchronization with GarminConnect takes place. Did a hard reset, removed Marq from GarminConnect. After hard reset and adding it to GarminConnect it is identified as MarqGolfer !!!
I have a MARQ Aviator that is missing a $0.99 screw for the metal band, but have been unable to get any email response for obtaining a replacement -- this is a solitary screw securing the bracelet end-link to the other band links. I emailed Garmin 2x, without response, so I ultimately called by phone today and was given a link to upload photos. This was completed and reviewed by Garmin customer service, who ultimately came back with "we don't have the screws and cannot help you, please take the bracelet to a jeweler for repair." I have been to a jeweler, and this is not a standard sized link screw that is readily available. I'm sure there is some jeweler somewhere in the world that has the screw, but really this is really inadequate support for a $2200 watch -- how about Garmin go to a jeweler to source the tiny screws and make them available to customers for free when their expensive product has a design/durability failure as a sign of good will? I as also given the option to buy an entirely new complete band from Garmin with at a discount, which would have still cost $100s.

It appears I'm not alone, as the Garmin forums have 2-3 other stories of this exact same issue (missing link screw, but no response/help from Garmin). This is an embarrassing look for the company, and poor treatment of loyal customers who have invested significant capital in the purchase. In my case, this is the 5th Garmin watch I've purchased, and I was an early adopter of the MARQ aviator in 2019 -- I can tell you that it's disappointing that Garmin does not seem to want to be bothered with helping MARQ customers.

It's ultimately about customer-centric support/policy and gestures of appreciation instead of customer alienating actions that communicate something entirely different. It shouldn't take 2 emails, 1 phone call, 2 image uploads, and a follow-up conversation just to be told "please take our broken product to a 3rd party company to see if they can fix it." Maybe Garmin wants to be like everyone else and focus on commoditizing the customer relationship? If so, that is truly an unfortunate departure from the company values and previous experiences I've had that led me to be such a Garmin fan in the first place.

People say it is because Garmin wants us to buy the next gen. But Gen 1 tracks: sleep, recovery time, hrv status, acute load, sleep history and stress. And on the official Garmin pictures you can see that training readiness is a subset of these values. So there seems to be no hardware reason not to show this information. Or can can anyone give a sound explanation? I feel Garmin laughs us in the face here.
