HR Always Inconsistent

My Instinct is so inaccurate when walking and cycling. I don’t understand how an expensive watch like this can be so unreliable.

Picture shows a basic oxiomiter showing my HR is 149 after an effort, wrist shows 88. I’ve had the same when on arduous hikes. Any one have any idea or suggestions? I also have HR data set to display every second not “smart”.

Garmin instinct don't charge

I have a Garmin Instinct, when I remove the charger it shows "low battery", turning it off and on also makes the battery start from 0. When disconnected it stays on for minutes and then turns off. I have tried all the resets and I have cleaned the watch.

Yep, the same thing. My watch keeps turning off and can't reboot unless plugged back in. The watch watch want cheap, and I've bought another one. I praying this one doesn't have the same glitches.

Garmin Instinct software unable to be updated due to connectivity issues.

I am having trouble connecting and updating a Garmin Instinct (software version 6.60) to both the Garmin Express app (windows) and the Garmin Connect app (iOS).
Garmin Instinct will fail to pair with Garmin Connect app (all normal troubleshooting recommendations followed).
Garmin instinct will show up on Garmin express software and will receive a message stating the Garmin Express Servers are unavailable.
I have successfully connected another device Fenix 5x on this Garmin Express version so am certain the internet connection is sufficient.
I’m stumped 🤔 any ideas?

Instinct 2x - Workout Feature not working - Going to a Bike Activity when I want to do a workout.

Instinct 2x - I just started using the Workout feature of my watch. When I select "Activity" "Workouts" "My Workouts" then Select a workout, it Says "Do Workout" I select "Do Workout" and it goes to the Bike Activity Icon to select a Biking Activity instead of my Workout. Is this a Glitch? Any Suggestions??

I havd Garmin inctinct standard edition, from the battery indicator it show 4bar full ,fully charged but when I remove the watch cable it goes off ,and I put power cable then watch is on ,,,please help me

I have an Instinct Solar.

When I take a run with the start and finish at the same point I notice that the elavation valves do not correspond.

I am talking about at least 10 meters difference on a 10K run in a level enviroment.

(I am thinking of using the start and finish values to correct all the intermediate values)

Watch and app don't show best pace and other info for runs

Since about one month ago my instinct watch does not display 'best pace', 'max speed', 'moving time' etc. Also, the visual representation of the running speed is drawn only in one colour.

After updating to version. 19.10, I did a test run wearing BOTH my Lily and Instinct watch. All the information was available on the activity from the Lily watch but the issue still persists with the Instinct watch.

I only experience the issue when running. During a walking activity all the information is there. Neither so I have problems with other activities.

What can I do to resolve the issue?

I have been wearing this now for three weeks and the irritation underneath. The watch is slowly being at worse. Thought it was some sort of skin reaction at first but it’s definitely a burn. Worn an Apple Watch and a Rolex for years never had any issue whatsoever.

Looks like from suggested threads I am not alone in this issue.

This has happened two mornings in a row now.

Day 1 : Climb up and down stairs until number on watch reaches 5. Do at least that many MORE stairs - counter doesn't change. Soak watch in water for an hour, jiggling every few minutes. No change. Turn watch off and on again. Counting resumes.

Day 2 : Climb up and down stairs until number on watch reaches 5. Do two more flights, not counted. Turn watch off and on again, counting resumes.

What is it with Garmin watches that they can't count stairs without restarting the device?

Garmin Instinct with HRM Pro Plus

I recently purchased Garmin's HRM Pro Plus and have paired it with Garmin Connect app and my Garmin Instinct. On my watch, the strap shows up as 2 separate sensors for HR monitor and Footpod.

I noticed that I'm not getting the advanced running dynamics after my run. Does anyone know if Garmin Instinct supports these advanced metrics?

Instinct powers off at random

I have an instinct solar that is powering off at random. No pattern just does it whenever. Everything is up to date and tried the hard restart with no fix. I have had the watch for 3 years and love it. But this stinks. Any fixes coming out soon? Please.

edit 3/6/24 - No real fix or update when I called. They suggested I pay for another one through them. But from what I gathered from others in the forum who have the same issue is that the unit can’t keep up with the power demand and shuts off. That sounds like a design flaw to me. I’m running no watch right now because I don’t know if I want to stick with something faulty.

Garmin Instinct freezing

What's up, just created a account. Have the original instinct and the watch stays on for about 35mins then after it freezes. Have to reset and it does the same thing everytime. Garmin suggested I send It in and pay $90 for a refurbished. Any other suggestions?

Wrong avg swim lap pace

Instructions for updating software:

Download the .zip folder containing the update HERE
Connect the watch to your computer.
Unzip and copy the included gupdate.gcd file to the Garmin folder on your watch.
Disconnect the watch from the computer and it will prompt you to update software.

For any issues that you encounter, please send an email to outdoor.beta@garmin.com. In your email please include the software version, and a detailed description of your issue, along with any steps to reproduce. Garmin instinct battery drain

Hi there

I have tried all of the suggested methods to address the battery drain on my Garmin instinct. It appears to be a very common issue ! I took it to shop where I purchased it (JB HIFI) and the the 12 month warranty expired 10 months ago and there is nothing they can do !

Any suggestions? Battery only lasting 12 hours now. Very frustrating! Expensive purchase for a 20 month old watch!

I did love the watch! Now a disgruntled and disappointed user 😩😠

Features not working

My watch is suddenly running 40min slow and has lost a few features. The heart monitor and steps are no longer showing and it is not holding power like it should. I have restarted the watch and app several times with no luck. I also cannot find settings on the watch

dog tracking widget not working.

Instinct solar Dog tracking worked with my old alpha 100. Just replaced the old alpha 100 with a new refurbished alpha 100. Now when I go to my dog tracking widget it says searching but will not pair and after awhile goes instinct goes back to main screen

How can I set my watch during strength training so that when I finish a series, e.g. when I press the lap button, it counts down for 2 minutes and vibrates to motivate me and inform me that it's time for the next series?

Indoor climbing activity and auto climb - please turn off

Please turn off the auto climbing feature on the "Indoor Climbing" activity. I will be sitting in a chair, belaying, taking my shoes off and the watch will auto start a climb relentlessly.

Please turn off auto climb and make it like the bouldering app so that you always select the grade to start a climb.
