Show current elevation during an activity

During an activity, how can I get my watch to show the current elevation? I have searched through all the menus in the map / navaigation screens and can’t see it anywhere. Do I need to add a Data Screen with altitude on it ?

During my run, I can not see my actual pace on my Fenix5x anymore...

2 days ago all fine - this morning i have to run without seeing my pace.

Any idea how to solve this issue?

Hi,

I tried to upload an activity, but it won't sync to garmin connect. When I have then tried to manually upload i get the following error message "We don't support the file type you tried to import.". It's the first time I've had a problem syncing an activity from my Fenix 5, so I'm a bit stuck? File attached if that helpsforums.garmin.com/.../E2EH2435.zip

Neither soft nor hard reset make it better. I just have random horizontal lines on the screen and no display...

Recording hikes for 19 days without internet connection

Heading out to Nepal where we are told that internet will be non existent. We will be hiking for 19 days will my old Fenix 5 be able to store all these hikes or will it start to overwrite the early hikes before I get a chance to sync with my phone?

I plan to keep my watch charged with battery pack and portable solar panel.

Feniks 3 firmware rollback

Good morning

My old Feniks 3 has just been replenished with new battery after the first did not last longer than a day or two. Unfortunately, the new battery exibits the exact behaviour. I have uninstalled everything that could cause drain, switched off wifi and bluetooth connections, and deactivated my Strava account. Still the same.

Today I tried rolling back the firmware to pre-V9 but cannot get it to work. Each time it restarts, the version is upgraded to 9.6.

Any suggestions?

I don’t have the Safety and tracking menu option on Connect on my fenix 5x, please help re-add.

I would love to activate the incident detection function but I can’t enable it on Connect and nor do I have the Safety menu option on my fenix 5x. I have read that all the 5’s now have this option.

Show HR during interval

I often do interval running, and I want to easily know the HR (or which HR-zone) I am running in. However, the interval display only shows elapsed time (of course OK), but also step length step pace, for which I have no use.

Obviously, I could scroll to the HR page, but that would require pressing the "UP/MENU"-button. I dont like that, and besides, I would not know time left of the current interval.

Is there a way to edit the interval display?

I know how to edit the "normal" run display - I have set that one up with stopwatch, pace and HR. It should be equally easy to edit the interval run display.

Any tips on how to accomplish this?

Optimum settings for battery for running with gps

Im preparing for a ultra run which i expect to take me around 15hrs. however im pretty sure that how it stands, my watch will not be able to last this event with GPS mode and HR. Currently i use GPS + Gallileo and I can get, around 10hrs. Does it make a big difference if i use GPS only? I had tried UltraTrac and i thought it was quite rubbish so i would like to avoid it if possible

I have accidentally dropped my Fenix 5X and it went blank... When i put it on the charger it boots ant starts but goes blank as soon as I remove it from the charger... Tried to press the start button (top left) for 30 seconds but to no avail... any suggestions will be much appreciated!

I have a fēnix® 5S. My altimeter seems to track my elevation, but when I record an activity it no longer records my elevation during the activity.

On 20th Dec it recorded my elevation during a cycle to the swimming pool. It recorded my swim, and then it stopped recording my elevation during the cycle on the way home.

I have tried, soft reset, auto-calibrating and have updated to the latest software.

I am a regular swimmer. The only change to my activity on 20th Dec is that I started to swim a few lengths of crawl rather than only breaststroke.

Has anyone else experienced this and have you been able to resolve it?

Where can I buy a new charging cable for my Garmin Fenix 5x ?

I set an alarm a while ago. After deleting, syncing, updating, restarting the watch; the alarm continues to go off at the original time. It'd be great to fix it before I put a hammer through it...

Hola , debido a un consumo excesivo de batería (-3%/H) en mi reloj fenix 5s con software 19.30 y de establecimiento de reloj y batería nueva me gustaría saber si hay una beta que elimine el drenaje de batería . Gracias

HE restablecido el reloj , apago el pulso , desactivo todo , reiníciado , borrar todo incluso cambiado a una batería nueva .. y está igual .Según veo en otros foros de internet no soy la única persona con este error de batería en Fenix 5 s plus .

NO ES UN MODELO NUEVO PERO NO QUIERO TIRARLO.

GPS connection

My GPS will not establish connection with any satellite's options for any sport. For calibration mode for my 'ABC' only compass will calibrate. Otherwise everything else I received 'GPS signal is stronger outside, away from trees and tall building's'
I've done this on a dock of a lake away from trees and buildings. I've even left the vehicle on top of a vehicle of a parking lot whilst getting ready for hike. (I am curious if the constant cloud coverage here in Zurich has not allowed the watch to do a GPS soak?)
I started to have issues here in Europe right after landing from my plane trip departing Texas.
I was here last summer, and had no issues. Sans constant cloud coverage.
I attempted to use it a few weekends ago on a snowboarding trip and it correctly guessed the amount of runs and altitude, but the distance was way off and no map visible.
Software version is 25.00, GPS 2.70, EPO:Current.
This is all on a Garmin Fenix 5X

Garmin workouts not syncing

Workouts in my Garmin Connect calendar are not syncing to watch. The Garmin Connect App says that the sync has occured, however the workout does not appear when I try to commence running activity with my watch. I have fewer than 25 saved workouts, and the workouts feature on my fenix 5 has previously worked. Is this a bug from a new update?

Delete custom activity profile

Hello, I have created custom activity profile based on the outdoor swimming for the test purposes. Now I am trying to remove it but I cannot. Even after remove that one right from the watch or through the Garmin Connect the application/activity stays in deleted section and I am not able to create different one with the same name. Could you please help me out on got to permanently delete custom activity profile ?

Garmin Fenix 5 not turning on

My Garmin Fenix 5S ran out of battery overnight. When I plugged it in this morning it briefly displayed the charging icon and then the triangle, but then went dark and has not done anything since. I left it plugged in for a while, then checked the cables and the contacts and cleaned them. I have no reason to think the cable isn't working; it has been fine until now. I also tried connecting it to my computer and it didn't recognise the device either and still remained dark. Other posts have suggested holding down the light button for 30 seconds; this doesn't work. I have seen posts suggesting a master reset, but I cannot find anything to tell me how to perform a master reset if the screen is not showing anything. Any help greatly appreciated. I've tried the support centre and that is not helping at all.

Fenix 5 screen frozen with lines. Will power off and back on but screen stays the same when back on. Online chat with customer service rep said it’s “met the end of its life expectancy” and that they are only expected to last 2-3 years, sorry!

Any thoughts or suggestions? Sure would like it to last longer than a few years for the price we pay!
