Activation issues

I purchased a used mini 2 from eBay and have been unable to activate or purchase a subscription. I keep getting the message "you may not have service", and the app isn't providing any additional information or help. TIA for any words of wisdom.

This was the issue - the previous owner of the device had only suspended their account. Once they cancelled I had no problem activating. Thanks for the responses.

maybe because whoever sold you their inReach hasn't deactivated their account

it is not easy to help you, just complaining is not easy for someone to sort things out. If you have more then one device in an account, yes, this is then served by professional account.

But this works fine, I do manage few professional accounts and all works as expected.

I'm deeply regretting my purchase of 2 Garmin Inreach 2's.
We run tour company and need to swap the devices between guides. I was told that I needed the pro subscription - which was a convoluted process, but I did it - why you can't do it online it a mystery to me. After a series of emails and phone calls, I registered both devices but every time we go to set one up on a phone it is a complete pain in the butt - now they wont connect at all and I can't get anyone from Garmin on the phone.

What a waste of $1000!!!!! I will NEVER buy a Garmin product ever again. They are difficult to use, they don't work very well when you can get them working. We are better off with a PLB and a mobile phone.

Can't add people to the automated notification option

When you want to share with people that you are starting your trip using livetrack you have the option to add 50 people. But when I try to add one I keep getting that I need to select someone that has a Garmin connect account. Well the person I am selecting has a livetrack account but it just won't seem to work.

I get a message stating "something went wrong" try again later.

I can however manually send them updates via the Inreach Mini 2 or via IR Messenger.

Anyone else having this issue?

issue with cancel SOS with 5.01

I had an emergency today, and after the rescue, although I was able to cancel the SOS on the Mini2, the SOS remained active (is still displayed as active on screen). It seemed frozen and switching off is not possible. My account was also logged out in the Messenger app. I had to log in and authorize countless times before it finally worked. Then the SOS on the Mini2 was canceled. This definitely needs improvement.

Imported GPX as Route from AllTrails - Chirps at Every Point Along Route

I just imported a route from All Trails as a GPX into Explore and synced it to a new mini 2. This is basic stuff.

The problem is the mini 2 chirped every 5 minutes so it seems like it was chirping every time I hit a point that made up the imported GPX route from All Tails.

If I mute the sound on the mini I won't hear messages come in.

How can I import a GPX route so it won't chirp every five minutes? It was not an off-course alert. The message it displayed when it chirped was "Now arriving at destination x" X was always a different number.

I just changed the import to a Track and use the unit as a backup to Footpath with an Apple Watch Ultra 3.

After my experience with the 67i I feel the tech has gotten away from Garmin and I’m looking to completely move away from the ecosystem if it becomes feasible. Mini 2 seems solid for what it does

i have lost confidence in the 67i’s ability to come through in a pinch and would love to drop some Garmin executives off in the backwoods with a 67i as primary nav.

Explore app freezing

I can view my progress on the Explore app syncing with the M2, but when I start tracking, the screen freezes and I can't tell if tracking is actually enabled. I can later view the track online. Any fixes? Suggestions on alternate apps to use?? Thanks...

With my subscription I am looking at a message quota. If I send one message to 4 contacts, does that count as 1 or 4?

Sending a group message counts as a single message towards your plan. But each reply to that group message will count towards your plan. See the FAQ about inReach Message charges at support.garmin.com/.../

According to OpenStreetMap those are hunting stands. Apparently Garmin Explore renders these features as rifles.

I have "only" a Mini 3+ and and Edge 1040- same behavior here - so maybe an Edge sw problem? (but to be honest: I can´t remember how it was working before...).

In the past, when I received a text message on my inReach mini, the message would pop up on a screen on my Edge 1040, courtesy of the inReach Remote widget. Now this doesn't happen anymore. The message is received on my Edge, I can see it in the widget if I open it manually by pulling on the screen from the top down. Not sure when this functionality stopped, if it was a bug introduced by an Edge or inReach mini software update, as I hadn't used my inReach mini for a few months until recently. I even factory reset both devices twice, with no luck. I miss this functionality, as a received message popping up on my Edge screen draws my attention while riding. I could be missing the inReach chirp. Also, I don't want to fiddle with my Edge screen when I'm riding in the middle of the night during my ultra gravel races.

I'm running the latest software on both devices:

Garmin inReach Mini 2 , SW 4.34 (15P)

Garmin Edge 1040 Solar, SW 30.18

Has anyone run into this issue or any idea on what else I can try to get this fixed?

I also plan on calling Garmin Support in the next few days if I can't get this resolved.
