&lt;p&gt;I get a message stating &amp;quot;something went wrong&amp;quot; try again later.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I can however manually send them updates via the Inreach Mini 2 or via IR Messenger.&lt;/p&gt;

Not sure when this functionality stopped, if it was a bug introduced by an Edge or inReach mini software update, as I hadn&amp;#39;t used my inReach mini for a few months until recently. I even factory reset both devices twice, with no luck. I miss this functionality, as a received message popping up on my Edge screen draws my attention while riding. I could be missing the inReach chirp. Also, I don&amp;#39;t want to fiddle with my Edge screen when I&amp;#39;m riding in the middle of the night during my ultra gravel races.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m running the latest software on both devices:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Garmin inReach Mini 2 , SW 4.34 (15P)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Garmin Edge 1040 Solar, SW 30.18&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Has anyone run into this issue or any idea on what else I can try to get this fixed?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;1-As I understand it the quick text messaging from the messenger app seems to be solely for the another contact with the messenger app, is that right? but when I put a contact it says &amp;#39;this recipient is no longer on garmin messenger&amp;#39; so does that mean this option for quick messages only comes up when messaging others who have the messenger app?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2- The inreach is synced with my fenix 8 and I have changed the text responses in the connect app.&amp;nbsp; Despite syncing and switching on/off, going into app settings the preset text responses havent updated on the watch to reflect those changes.&amp;nbsp; Is that something it only does if you have an active subscription?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3- Explore app has seperate message presets which can be seen on the inreach 2, but I cannot see a way to edit this on the phone in the explore app to sync with the inreach and would like to avoid typing it manually on the inreach.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Finally the inreach messages have seperate presets when mapshare is clicked on the device.&amp;nbsp; Where are the in any app and how do I edit them.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any help with the above would be welcome and clarification on this as 3 seperate presets message routes through 3 seperare apps is v confusing.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;We partner our InRach Mini 2 to our Garmin Edge 1050.&amp;nbsp; This is great as we use the Edge 1050 to View / Send / Receive Messages at a glance.&amp;nbsp; This has worked fantastic up until a couple of weeks ago ish.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Now, app every 10 minutes while recording, the Edge 1050 drops all of it&amp;#39;s Ant + sensors, (HR, Varia, Power) then reconnects.&amp;nbsp; The disconnect lasts app 3 to 5 seconds.&amp;nbsp; Meanwhile we have a Fenix 8 Dual Recording (without Inreach connected to it) and all sensors stay connected to it just fine.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Steps we have completed to troubleshoot / fix.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Removed all old unused sensors.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Removed all apps dowloaded from app store.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Factory Reset (Complete Wipe) Edge 1050.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Factory Reset InReach Mini 2&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Verifed Edge 1050 and InReach Mini 2 were up to date on software using Garmin Express.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Verified Varia was up to date software with Garmin Express and Varia App.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- Added just one Ant+ sensor back to Edge 1050 (HR). Then added Inreach Mini 2, went for a ride, and Ant+ Sensor dropped out.&amp;nbsp; Disconnected Inreach Mini 2 and Edge 1050 works fine, sensors stay connected.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Added back in and Renamed all current active sensors, 12 Ant + sensors (4 bikes with power and gears, Varia Radar, Varia Light, HR Strap, Smart Trainer)&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Have gone for several rides.&amp;nbsp; Whenever InReach Mini 2 is connected Ant+ Sensors drop out.&amp;nbsp; If we simply disconnect the InReach Mini 2, all sensors stay connected just fine.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, the Fenix 8 is dual recording with all sensors just fine.&amp;nbsp; Note:&amp;nbsp; Inreach Mini 2 is not connected to it.&amp;nbsp; We&amp;#39;ll do that and report back here later.&amp;nbsp; For now, it would be great to get the Edge 1050 back to it&amp;#39;s reliable operation as it was a couple of weeks ago.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It&amp;#39;s 100% Repeatable.&amp;nbsp; Connect my InReach mini 2 to the Edge 1050, Go for a ride, sensors drop out.&amp;nbsp; Disconnect InReach Mini 2, sensors stay connected just fine.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Now comes the problem&amp;hellip;. I am unable to &amp;lsquo;assign&amp;rsquo; the separate users (I have made 8x email addresses to make 8x users) to individual devices..&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Likely reason is that the devices are assigned a single email ID (original email with which I registered the consumer account and which is now the administrator account) and I am unable to &amp;lsquo;un-assign&amp;rsquo; them from the original email. I want to warn you to think very carefully before you carry any Garmin devices connected to GPS but in particular In Reach into or transiting through India.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i am currently sitting in the departure lounge waiting for a flight home. It was a very different story 5 weeks ago when I was transiting through IGI Delhi on my way to Bhutan.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I was blissfully unaware of India&amp;rsquo;s view of GPS devices so when the CISF officer asked me if the 2 small orange devices were GPS I innocently said yes. This set off a nightmarish process that ultimately was the biggest bureaucratic waste of time I&amp;rsquo;ve ever encountered.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The short version was that I was detained in the airport, disembarked from my plane to Paro, it took seven hours to get out of the airport and then I was taken to the IGI police station. It was unclear as to whether I had been arrested, I therefore contacted the British Consulate and a local lawyer. In the end, I was &amp;ldquo;freed&amp;rdquo; and allowed to fly on to Bhutan the next day on the condition I returned to Delhi to appear in the Magistrates Court to receive a Rupee 50,000 fine.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I therefore returned to Delhi after my epic Snowman&amp;rsquo;s Trek during which I obviously didn&amp;rsquo;t have In Reach comms with the outside world, fortunately others who had come through Kathmandu did. I was told to attend the Court which I duly did. Having waited 4 hours the Magistrates session ended at 1630 and he walked out. It was then I discovered that all charges (which were criminal in nature) were dropped, the case dismissed with no fine and I was told I could collect my devices!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I attended the police station this morning to collect the In Reach devices, which were in a store room. With other Garmin devices. Like boxes and boxes of them! It was an incredible sight. They put the devices in an envelope and, with great process, sealed them with a wax stamp. They then handed them back to me.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lessons learned:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- do not travel to India with any Garmin GPS devices&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- research your intended destination as well as any transit countries for similar bear traps&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- if you have to take a GPS into India, pack it / them in your hold luggage&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- if you get stopped &amp;nbsp;at an Indian airport with a GPS, I recommend allowing the devices to go in the bin (not that this was offered as an option &amp;nbsp;for me, but I have heard of this happening since I started researching these issues) &amp;nbsp;rather than fighting to keep them&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;- if you get caught in the same process as I did, it seems there is a very clear legal precedent for there being no case to answer if, as in my case, you have made an error in bringing them in not knowing the laws of India regarding GPS devices.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I hope this information is of use to any travellers to India.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I would have a question regarding remote controlling an inReach Mini 2 via my Fenix 7X Pro.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;With the inReach Mini 2 you can send two types of messages. The three predefined ones for checkin and custom ones including predefined templates for the latter.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the three predefined checkin messages, you setup&amp;nbsp;the recipients in Garmin Explore. So here I&amp;#39;ve setup the cellphone number of my wife and also MapShare. This ensures that all checkin messages I send also appear in MapShare on the map which is great, since you can see the messages at the location where they have been sent.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So now I want to do the very same with custom messages and here comes my problem.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When I want to compose a custom message (or use one of the predefined templates) this time I have to chose from my contacts to whom I send this message. When I do this with the Messenger app on my phone which is connected with the inReach Mini 2, or directly on the Mini 2, there is an entry &amp;quot;Mapshare&amp;quot; in my contacts list. So also for these messages I can easily send them to one or more contacts AND make them appear on Mapshare.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;BUT my normal usecase is, to remote control the Mini 2 which resides in my backpack via my Fenix 7X Pro and while I see all the contacts here that I maintained for my Mini 2, I do NOT see an entry &amp;quot;Mapshare&amp;quot;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My question is, if I&amp;#39;m missing something in the setup process, or if I can manually add a contact which achieves this and how it has to look like, or if this is a missing feature or a bug in the Fenix firmware. I&amp;#39;m running the good old 17.28 FW on my Fenix since it&amp;#39;s stable.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;Both devices are members of&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;the same&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;Group.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The Group is configured with all the normal device and account settings that I want to apply as a baseline default to my devices.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When logged in to EXPLORE WEB as an account Admin, I step through the Group editing wizard and it REQUIRES me to define Pre-Set message defaults.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When I&amp;nbsp;view the&amp;nbsp;MESSAGES section of explore.garmin.com (as an Admin), it tells me:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="padding-left:30px;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;Note: The admin of this account is overriding your selection of Preset and Quick Text Messages with their own.&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When logged in to explore.garmin.com web as the&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;USER account&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;linked to a device, it tells me:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="padding-left:30px;"&gt;&lt;em&gt;&amp;quot;inReach message history is no longer available on the Garmin Explore website. You can view messages directly on your inReach device or in the compatible inReach companion app.&amp;quot;&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;When I sync the device via USB, the check-in message recipients are still the OLD recipients from the last time the device was synced many months ago, before whatever has recently changed.&lt;/p&gt;
