Watch not detecting CT1 half way

All f a sudden at the turn (hole 10), the watch does not detect any of the CT1 tag after the shot.
Finished the round having to manually select the club.
Now trying to figure out what happened and how to fix it.
Anyone else with the same issue?

Same issue 2 days ago. By the 8th hole, the watch would not detect the CT1 anymore.
The watch suddenly start detecting the CT1 by the 13th.

My experience is that by the time I start a new round, the watch detect CT1 as usual.

Distance inaccuracies

Recently Ive been having about one or two holes a round where the gps distances have been off by 30-50 yards. It's showing me in the completely wrong location on the hole. I hooked the watch up to my computer to resync maps, reset the device, etc, and am still having issues. Anyone else with the same issues and any solutions?

Approach S70 Blue Triangle

My 13 Month old S70 is displaying the Blue Triangle of Death. It is fully charged and will not turn on. My retailer advice is the watch is now out of warranty and they cannot replace it. Said return it and they could send it to Garmin but no guarantee that anything can be done. Ive invested over $1,000 in this watch. Anybody else had similar experience?

My watch showed the blue triangle after a software update which resulted in S70 watches world wide glitching . I eventually got my dealer to work with the local distributor to solve . I said I would not collect it until it was fixed - a week later I had a working witch which has been fine ever since

same thing happening to mine and its barely a week old. Stopped sensing any of the 16 tags mid round. Manually have to select the club. Haven't worked since. all settings are good. Watch restarted, software all up-to-date. and I am very religious atbout tapping it squarely on the watch face and holding it there for a few seconds. Frustrating as ***.

I have an Approach S70 with CT1. On my 3rd golf round with my new CT1's, suddenly it stopped sensing the CT1. I have always tapped it flat on the watch surface and made sure to hold it a few seconds for each shot. I checked my settings and it is set to

I don't understand why the watch isn't covered by the warranty. In my country, we have statutory warranty rights, meaning you are still covered even after the standard warranty period has expired. You hold the seller liable for the non-functioning watch—not Garmin, unless you bought the S70 directly from them. It is the seller's responsibility to resolve the issue. The statutory warranty does not apply if the problem is caused by misuse, but the seller must prove that you used the watch incorrectly.

I’m here two years later and my 18 month old s70 just went down this path. Are they serious that they expect us to spend 500$ and in less than two years it is dead! What is this crap from a company that wants to be a leader. I will go on every YouTube channel promoting this and tell them the watch is crap.

Unfortunately, no resolution for now.
I was in contact with Garmin Support but could not provide the information they requested as I had already altered the tff/fit files.

Then, last round, everything went OK.
The only difference is that I made sure to be close to my phone when I finalised the Golf round.

Golf Activity not recorded in Garmin Connect after updating to 27.20

After upgrading to 27.20, my first golf round did not get uploaded to Garmin Connect

- Record activity is enabled => (please Garmin admin, don't ask me to toggle setting/Golf Settings/Record Actvity On - It's ON)
- The golf activity is well visible in the Garmin App
- The golf activity is not listed in Garmin Connect
- On the watch, when tapping the Golf Activity, no information showing up

So the issue is that Golf Activity do not show up in Garmin Connect after 27.20 (and of course are not uploaded to Strava)

As per OP, the fit file is missing the Lap / Session / Activity summary records that Garmin Connect expects

I have the same problem with my Fenix 8x Pro and Epix Gen2. “Record activity” is enabled on both watches, golf scorecards are available but no activity data. There is no data on the watches at all, investigated with Garmin express. I did toggle, restart, retoggle as well. It is definitely a firmware issue. Both watches are in the latest version.

enhancement request: 9 Hole round + NOT keeping score => need prompt after #9

So often I play only 9, plus recently I've been electing to not keep score on the watch during the round.

At the end of 9, same as if I were keeping score, the watch should prompt to either "Pause round" or to "End round".

fwiw i always double check at the top of the in-round face which hole it thinks I'm on - every once in a while I have to go into the options menu and "Switch Hole"

9 hole option

I and others I know have Garmin watches. We play in leagues during the week that are only 9 holes. Starting holes for the front and back 9 are near each other.

When I play 9 in league I don't always start on hole 1. So when I finish 9, I go to hole 1, but my watch thinks I'm on 10. I have to remember to change holes on the watch. Talking to others everyone has a story about the time they forgot to switch and was hitting the wrong distance.

Proposed solution (if another one doesn't exist). When I first start the round on my watch, after asking if I want to keep score, ask if I'm playing 9 or 18 holes. Based on that answer you can then code the watch to know how to loop the holes based on the answer.

First of all, I would like to say that I am a Garmin user and I really appreciate the quality of your golf watches and hardware. However, I would like to share some feedback regarding the Garmin Golf app.

In my opinion, the app is currently well behind what many golfers would expect from a modern golf analytics platform. While Garmin excels in hardware, the software and statistical analysis side feels significantly less developed than competing solutions such as shotscope or arcos

Many amateur golfers today are looking for much more than score tracking and basic statistics. We want actionable insights that help us improve our game. For example:

Detailed performance analysis by distance ranges.
Strokes gained statistics across all areas of the game.
Better approach-shot analysis.
Short-game performance breakdowns.
Trends by course, hole, club, and lie.
Performance benchmarks against players of similar handicap levels.
Stronger data visualization and reporting tools.

Garmin already collects a huge amount of valuable data through its devices. It feels like the app is not yet taking full advantage of that information.

Are there any plans to significantly expand the analytics capabilities of the Garmin Golf app in future updates? Many golfers would welcome a more advanced statistics platform that could compete directly with the insights currently offered by Shot Scope and Arccos.

I sync my Garmin R10 data with SwingSync.app which provides valuable insights and allows to export all sessions that you can use in ChatGTP/Claude to provide insights, eg progress. The app is continuously improved.

As someone who has been using the Garmin R 10 for quite some time and love its reliability at the range, I feel there is a definite misssed connection in allowing the Garmin watches to display live results or at least some metrics so you don’t have to have your phone or tablet sitting out. With all of the onboard screen launch monitor options coming out in the past year this would definitely make the R 10 a serious performer that would put it on or above pace for a lot of the competitors.

I tapped the view green view once and am now unable to get out of this view. It is now the only view I have on my watch. I cannot see the the full hole. To try and remedy I have powered the watch off several times, I have removed the original golf course from Garmin connect and have downloaded other golf courses. Still the same issue even with new downloaded golf courses it only provides the view green mode. Any suggestions

The golf activity would not load in Garmin Connect. I didn't try to turn the watch on/off

So the "advantage" was to finally have the activity loading to Garmin Connect (and Strava).

The "drawback" was that the following activity (Running) was merged with the golf activity.

Software 27.09 not recording activity during round

My Garmin Connect app has not shown any activity after my last few rounds. Scores/shots/maps all show correctly in the Garmin Golf app.
This has been an intermittent problem since September last year. It seems to have been solved a while back but has started again. I see there was another thread on this problem that has been locked because the person complaining is being dealt with personally. We need to see how prevalent this problem is and why it can’t be fixed permanently. It’s throwing my whole exercise program out of whack.
