Acting on advice from Garmin-MR, I emailed my local Garmin product support regarding the ongoing issues. Unfortunately, they are no longer responding.
I will let you know if they do eventually reply.

My Garmin Connect app has not shown any activity after my last few rounds. Scores/shots/maps all show correctly in the Garmin Golf app.
This has been an intermittent problem since September last year. It seems to have been solved a while back but has started again. I see there was another thread on this problem that has been locked because the person complaining is being dealt with personally. We need to see how prevalent this problem is and why it can’t be fixed permanently. It’s throwing my whole exercise program out of whack.

Since November 25 (software version 23.20), golf rounds are no longer recorded. Fit. files are empty. You can still see the scores in the golf app. The latest software update should solve the problem. Unfortunately. After 2 rounds it no longer works. According to Garmin service, the problem is still receiving full attention. I don't believe it. So a watch costing 700 euros is not doing well. When will Garmin take the problem seriously and solve it?

Currently running software 27.09 and the watch has again stopped recording my activity when playing golf. This has been an on and off problem for a year now. Absolutely unacceptable.

Hello stumpr2995 The Approach S70 will support Golf course mapping only. So you will not be able to download additional mapping or satellite images to appear on the watch.

Are these aerial maps worth $99.00 a year? Do they resemble the satellite views in Goggle Maps or Apple Maps? These maps also appear on the S-70 watch?

Treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of a treadmill run

Approach S70, software 27.09. The treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of Treadmill Running activities. It worked reliably for many runs prior to roughly May 2026.

Steps taken to rule out known causes:

Full factory reset performed August 9, 2026. The first-time calibration prompt did not appear after the reset, which it should on a device with no prior calibration.
Checked Garmin Express for updates after my treadmill run, only updates available were course maps.
No foot pod, HRM strap, or any accessory has ever been paired to this device.
Activity type confirmed as Treadmill Running in Garmin Connect.
Tested with no structured workout loaded.
Watch recorded 5.5 km, well above the 1.5 km minimum stated in the S70 owner's manual.

The owner's manual for this device still documents this feature. Please confirm whether this is a known regression or whether the feature was removed.

Update to software 27.09

After two rounds the next round does not appear in the activity logs. The scorecard and shots are visible in the golf app. So that's repaired. Restarting the S70 after two rounds does the trick.

It has been ten months since the problem started after a software update, yet there is still no permanent solution. I'm using the latest versions of the golf app and Connect, and the watch is configured correctly.

Garmin, please fix th issue.

I was asked as well. I have a video but was not provided a place to upload it. I have the same...I ran 1.5 miles on the treadmill and after ending the workout there was no save and calibrate option. Just save.

I was asked to send you guys a video of me attempting to do this, which I gladly did. The video clearly shows that the Calibrate & Save option on my watch is simply gone from my list of options after a treadmill run, so I cannot calibrate my treadmill distance using your steps.

Can we please get an Approach Wedge added between the Pitching Wedge and Gap Wedge. When virtual caddy recommends a club, both are under GW so it’s hard to know which club the caddy is recommending!

Do you have any name/nickname for AW in Garmin Golf?

I have AW with name '45' and GW with name '52', both are available in the list of clubs to select after the stroke. The list shows the names though, so it shows 45 and 52, not AW and GW.

I have it in my bag in Garmin Golf. When I hit a shot, the AW is not listed in my clubs to select. If it’s in the bag, I should be able to select it, don’t you think?

I believe they have already fixed this - I have both AW and GW in my Garmin Golf bag. Not sure if Virtual Caddy would suggest AW though, but I can definitely select it after the stroke.

There's an issue with Garmin Connect that they haven't resolved yet - it doesn't sync with Garmin Golf, and it's not possible to add AW there yet.

I have the same setup as you. In a modern iron set, the PW is 42 - 44 degrees and too large a gap to a 52 degree Gap Wedge. My Approach Wedge sits between them at 48 degrees. Should be a simple add to the Connect App. The Golf App allows you to create it in the bag but the Virtual Caddy doesn't recognize it. Silly.

I loaded the new firmware yesterday, when I arrived at the course today, the watch could not find my course that I have played for a long time with this watch. Tried a few things and nothing seemed to work, so got home and tried to reset it. But I keep getting to the same error over and over... any ideas?

Totally agree with all of the comments.. what is surprising to me is that no one from Garmin has responded to these comments even though it has been 6 months since the thread was begun. Come on Garmin, listen to your users and give us some feedback. If the answer is that the watch and handheld will never sync, just let us know.

Hello Garmin Team,

I’m a longtime Garmin user and currently use the Approach S70, CT10 sensors, and the Z30 laser, all of which work exceptionally well together. The ecosystem and data continuity are a big reason I’ve stayed with Garmin.

I wanted to share a feature request that I believe would significantly enhance the user experience: deeper integration between the Approach S70 and the Approach G82.

Specifically, it would be incredibly valuable to:
- Start and manage a round on either device (S70 or G82) with automatic syncing between them
- Share live hole data, scoring, and Smart Caddie recommendations across both devices
- Use the G82 as a larger, cart-mounted visual display while the S70 remains the primary wearable interface
- Seamlessly leverage CT10 and Z30 data across both devices without needing to choose a “primary” unit

From a user perspective, the S70 + G82 combination feels like it should be the ultimate setup—wearable intelligence plus a larger, glanceable screen—but today they operate more independently than expected.

I realize there may be technical or product-line considerations, but I wanted to share this feedback because it would meaningfully improve on-course usability without adding complexity.

Thank you for continuing to build such a strong golf ecosystem. I’d be happy to provide additional feedback or clarify use cases if helpful.
