Stuck on View Green view

I tapped the view green view once and am now unable to get out of this view. It is now the only view I have on my watch. I cannot see the the full hole. To try and remedy I have powered the watch off several times, I have removed the original golf course from Garmin connect and have downloaded other golf courses. Still the same issue even with new downloaded golf courses it only provides the view green mode. Any suggestions

Golf Activity not recorded in Garmin Connect after updating to 27.20

After upgrading to 27.20, my first golf round did not get uploaded to Garmin Connect

- Record activity is enabled => (please Garmin admin, don't ask me to toggle setting/Golf Settings/Record Actvity On - It's ON)
- The golf activity is well visible in the Garmin App
- The golf activity is not listed in Garmin Connect
- On the watch, when tapping the Golf Activity, no information showing up

So the issue is that Golf Activity do not show up in Garmin Connect after 27.20 (and of course are not uploaded to Strava)

As per OP, the fit file is missing the Lap / Session / Activity summary records that Garmin Connect expects

Approach S70 repeatedly failing to finalise saved activities

Dear Garmin Support,

I am having a repeated activity-recording problem with a replacement Approach S70.

The watch appears to record the underlying activity data correctly, but on some occasions the activity does not save properly as an activity on the watch or upload normally to Garmin Connect.

This has now happened more than once.

On 19 August, an 18-hole golf round appeared in Garmin Golf, but initially did not appear as an activity on the S70 or in Garmin Connect. The underlying FIT file was present on the watch and contained the GPS and heart-rate data, but it was malformed and required repair before Garmin Connect would accept it. A subsequent walk also produced an abnormal FIT file containing data from the walk mixed with summary information from the earlier golf round.

The S70 was subsequently fully registered in Garmin Express and updated.

Today, 26 August, the same problem has happened again with another golf round. The scorecard has saved, but the golf activity has not saved normally. I retrieved the underlying file from the watch:

The raw data appear complete: approximately 4:40:35 duration, 7.71 miles, average HR 88 bpm, max HR 119 bpm, with 4,090 recorded data points. However, the FIT file again appears not to have been properly finalised with the normal Lap/Session/Activity summary records. Once those records were reconstructed, Garmin Connect accepted the repaired file.

I therefore suspect this is not simply a Garmin Connect synchronisation problem. The watch appears intermittently to be writing the underlying activity records but failing to finalise the FIT activity correctly.

As this is already a replacement S70 and the problem has now recurred after updating it, could this please be escalated for technical investigation?

I can provide the original malformed FIT files from both occurrences, together with the repaired versions if useful.

Please let me know what diagnostic files or further information you would like.

Software 27.09 not recording activity during round

My Garmin Connect app has not shown any activity after my last few rounds. Scores/shots/maps all show correctly in the Garmin Golf app.
This has been an intermittent problem since September last year. It seems to have been solved a while back but has started again. I see there was another thread on this problem that has been locked because the person complaining is being dealt with personally. We need to see how prevalent this problem is and why it can’t be fixed permanently. It’s throwing my whole exercise program out of whack.

Update to software 27.09

After two rounds the next round does not appear in the activity logs. The scorecard and shots are visible in the golf app. So that's repaired. Restarting the S70 after two rounds does the trick.

It has been ten months since the problem started after a software update, yet there is still no permanent solution. I'm using the latest versions of the golf app and Connect, and the watch is configured correctly.

Garmin, please fix th issue.

Optional Aerial Maps

Are these aerial maps worth $99.00 a year? Do they resemble the satellite views in Goggle Maps or Apple Maps? These maps also appear on the S-70 watch?

Garmin connect map doesn't show anymore the spped overlay colours.

My Garmin golf app does not accurately count penality strokes. Counts penality strokes as a single stroke.

My Garmin golf app does not count penality strokes. App scores a penality shot like any other stroke. It requires that I review each round of golf for penality strokes and revise my score for every hole. Why is this so?

Treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of a treadmill run

Approach S70, software 27.09. The treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of Treadmill Running activities. It worked reliably for many runs prior to roughly May 2026.

Steps taken to rule out known causes:

Full factory reset performed August 9, 2026. The first-time calibration prompt did not appear after the reset, which it should on a device with no prior calibration.
Checked Garmin Express for updates after my treadmill run, only updates available were course maps.
No foot pod, HRM strap, or any accessory has ever been paired to this device.
Activity type confirmed as Treadmill Running in Garmin Connect.
Tested with no structured workout loaded.
Watch recorded 5.5 km, well above the 1.5 km minimum stated in the S70 owner's manual.

The owner's manual for this device still documents this feature. Please confirm whether this is a known regression or whether the feature was removed.

Description of Bug:
When ending and attempting to save a "Pool Swim" activity, the watch encounters an endless loop on the "Searching for Stored HR Data" and "No external HR connected. Search again?" screens. During this loop, the touchscreen UI completely freezes and ceases to respond to any touch inputs. [1]

Steps to Reproduce:

Initiate and complete a standard "Pool Swim" activity using only the internal wrist-based optical heart rate sensor (no external HRM strap connected).
Stop the activity and select "Save activity?". [1, 2]
The device displays "Searching for Stored HR Data" followed by "No external HR connected. Search again?". [1, 2]
Attempting to interact with the touchscreen fails (touch recognition is frozen).
Depressing the bottom side physical button advances the screen to "Save without external HR?", but the touch targets still do not function.
Pressing the bottom side button again re-triggers the loop, sending the device back to "Searching for Stored HR Data".
The loop repeats continuously for 5–10 minutes until an internal watchdog timer forces an auto-save.

My Garmin s70 was working well until I upgraded the maps. Then it stopped finding golf courses in Bengaluru India. The Garmin Tech support did not offer any help. Hi - New S70 user here but I had had an S42 for like 6 years. I have seen the below complaint or enhancement request on the internet (Facebook, Reddit etc) but I don't believe I see it on this particular forum so perhaps this will get attention from Garmin developers. I'm a mid 50's golfer who uses distance prescription glasses and/or sunglasses when playing golf. I don't bring reading glasses nor want to.

The font on almost all of the key functions on the S70 are fine but currently the yardages in the map mode are impossible for me to read. I think that partially it's because of the desire to avoid taking up too much real estate on the watch face and partially because the font is white on a green background. Request would be some combination of:

1) Make the font choice a configuration setting (large/small/medium) or

2) Make the font black (maybe that would make it more legible? or

3) Make the font just a tick larger, which perhaps would avoid any problems with real estate while maybe helping make it more legible.

I understand why you went in this direction aethetically versus the old models where you would scroll through a series of front/back numbers in order of all of the bunkers/hazards from tee to green, but the size of the font just makes it unusable for the 'olds'.

For the last 2 runs, the Average/Max Run Cadence shows 0 and the average stride length has disapeared .
Any chance we can get the stat back in the S70 (Activities/Running/[select Activity]/Stats/Running Dynamics)?

View Shot Map not showing in Garmin Golf App

Out of the last 10 rounds, 3 of those did not have the view shot map which I really check since I like to check my yardages. I also noticed that after I saved or ended the round yesterday, the watch restarted by itself. So when it rebooted, I checked and had to save the round once again. It recorded my round settings except for the view shot map in the garmin golf app
