Are these aerial maps worth $99.00 a year? Do they resemble the satellite views in Goggle Maps or Apple Maps? These maps also appear on the S-70 watch?

Garmin connect map doesn't show anymore the spped overlay colours.

My Garmin golf app does not accurately count penality strokes. Counts penality strokes as a single stroke.

My Garmin golf app does not count penality strokes. App scores a penality shot like any other stroke. It requires that I review each round of golf for penality strokes and revise my score for every hole. Why is this so?

Treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of a treadmill run

Approach S70, software 27.09. The treadmill Calibrate and Save option no longer appears at the end of Treadmill Running activities. It worked reliably for many runs prior to roughly May 2026.

Steps taken to rule out known causes:

Full factory reset performed August 9, 2026. The first-time calibration prompt did not appear after the reset, which it should on a device with no prior calibration.
Checked Garmin Express for updates after my treadmill run, only updates available were course maps.
No foot pod, HRM strap, or any accessory has ever been paired to this device.
Activity type confirmed as Treadmill Running in Garmin Connect.
Tested with no structured workout loaded.
Watch recorded 5.5 km, well above the 1.5 km minimum stated in the S70 owner's manual.

The owner's manual for this device still documents this feature. Please confirm whether this is a known regression or whether the feature was removed.

Description of Bug:
When ending and attempting to save a "Pool Swim" activity, the watch encounters an endless loop on the "Searching for Stored HR Data" and "No external HR connected. Search again?" screens. During this loop, the touchscreen UI completely freezes and ceases to respond to any touch inputs. [1]

Steps to Reproduce:

Initiate and complete a standard "Pool Swim" activity using only the internal wrist-based optical heart rate sensor (no external HRM strap connected).
Stop the activity and select "Save activity?". [1, 2]
The device displays "Searching for Stored HR Data" followed by "No external HR connected. Search again?". [1, 2]
Attempting to interact with the touchscreen fails (touch recognition is frozen).
Depressing the bottom side physical button advances the screen to "Save without external HR?", but the touch targets still do not function.
Pressing the bottom side button again re-triggers the loop, sending the device back to "Searching for Stored HR Data".
The loop repeats continuously for 5–10 minutes until an internal watchdog timer forces an auto-save.

Hi everyone, one I update the maps to 26.20, I got the new version of the americas AND the old one (26.10) is still there. So I have two versions of the Americas, the new and the old one, on my watch. No problems with the other two. How can I delete the old one? Thanks

Shot dispersion

The Golf Course Bad Ems has been redesigned. The Greens have moved. When will the course be updated?

Does not find courses in India but finds them in Scotland and Wales

My Garmin s70 was working well until I upgraded the maps. Then it stopped finding golf courses in Bengaluru India. The Garmin Tech support did not offer any help. But thereafter when I visited Scotland and Wales it located all the golf courses correctly. I thought the problem had gone away. But on return to India the no golf course found message is back

Hi - New S70 user here but I had had an S42 for like 6 years. I have seen the below complaint or enhancement request on the internet (Facebook, Reddit etc) but I don't believe I see it on this particular forum so perhaps this will get attention from Garmin developers. I'm a mid 50's golfer who uses distance prescription glasses and/or sunglasses when playing golf. I don't bring reading glasses nor want to.

The font on almost all of the key functions on the S70 are fine but currently the yardages in the map mode are impossible for me to read. I think that partially it's because of the desire to avoid taking up too much real estate on the watch face and partially because the font is white on a green background. Request would be some combination of:

1) Make the font choice a configuration setting (large/small/medium) or

2) Make the font black (maybe that would make it more legible? or

3) Make the font just a tick larger, which perhaps would avoid any problems with real estate while maybe helping make it more legible.

I understand why you went in this direction aethetically versus the old models where you would scroll through a series of front/back numbers in order of all of the bunkers/hazards from tee to green, but the size of the font just makes it unusable for the 'olds'.

For the last 2 runs, the Average/Max Run Cadence shows 0 and the average stride length has disapeared .
Any chance we can get the stat back in the S70 (Activities/Running/[select Activity]/Stats/Running Dynamics)?

View Shot Map not showing in Garmin Golf App

Out of the last 10 rounds, 3 of those did not have the view shot map which I really check since I like to check my yardages. I also noticed that after I saved or ended the round yesterday, the watch restarted by itself. So when it rebooted, I checked and had to save the round once again. It recorded my round settings except for the view shot map in the garmin golf app

So there are a lot of threads about Approach S70 not detecting shots.

(My TL;DR : it used to work fine (first three months' of ownership). Last couple of rounds, tee-shots not picked up, fairway shots not picked up. I haven't changed any settings. I haven't changed how watch sat on my wrist. I haven't changed my swing. So why does it just stop working.

Anyway looking at the discussion, it seems that if auto-detection doesn't work, then you should use "measure shot". But I just don't understand that. I am in a round. I don't know that the first (say, tee-) shot wasn't detected until I play the next (second) shot. Yes, I may not have had a reminder to select club, but I don't always notice that. When I have played the 2nd shot, it is too late to measure the first shot.

Better still would be for Garmin to fix the problem, but given that this seems a common issue for a couple of years no by looking at this forum, what is the best work-around

A related question: how do you know from looking at the watch immediately after the tee-shot that the shot has been detected. I know that if I walk, then a detected shot will trigger the counting of the length of that shot, but that takes me walking 5 or 10 yards and so how do I do that whilst still on the tee-box, so that - assuming I can remember - I can switch on "measure shot"?

First of all, I would like to say that I am a Garmin user and I really appreciate the quality of your golf watches and hardware. However, I would like to share some feedback regarding the Garmin Golf app.

In my opinion, the app is currently well behind what many golfers would expect from a modern golf analytics platform. While Garmin excels in hardware, the software and statistical analysis side feels significantly less developed than competing solutions such as shotscope or arcos

Many amateur golfers today are looking for much more than score tracking and basic statistics. We want actionable insights that help us improve our game. For example:

Detailed performance analysis by distance ranges.
Strokes gained statistics across all areas of the game.
Better approach-shot analysis.
Short-game performance breakdowns.
Trends by course, hole, club, and lie.
Performance benchmarks against players of similar handicap levels.
Stronger data visualization and reporting tools.

Garmin already collects a huge amount of valuable data through its devices. It feels like the app is not yet taking full advantage of that information.

Are there any plans to significantly expand the analytics capabilities of the Garmin Golf app in future updates? Many golfers would welcome a more advanced statistics platform that could compete directly with the insights currently offered by Shot Scope and Arccos.

Software updates not working lots of bugs

Is anyone else having issues with the Garmin Approach S70 after the latest software updates?

A few things I’ve noticed:

• I can no longer view my historical shots on the course map in the Garmin Golf app. I believe this feature was added earlier this year, and it appears to have disappeared.

• I’ve been playing a lot of 9-hole rounds. When I finish a round and later go back out for another 9, the watch often doesn’t properly end the first round, which creates problems with tracking the second round.

• Sleep tracking has become inconsistent. Some nights my sleep data records normally, while other nights no sleep data appears at all.

Has anyone else experienced these issues, and if so, have you found any fixes? I’m currently running the latest software version on my S70.

You are not alone with at least some of these problems. Garmin users have recently reported sleep tracking failures and other bugs after updates, and Garmin has issued several software fixes for the S70 over the past few releases.

Default Hole Zoom

Hi There,

Upgraded from the s62 but find the hole targeting to be clunky on the s70 and venu x1. On the s62 I could just click random spots on the hole to lay up to and get a distance. On the s70 I have to click the hole, wait until it loads something, then zoom out, literally every single time. Is there a way for the default click just to be the spot I clicked and have zoom be a secondary option instead of the opposite? This feature feels like it was made by folks who didn't golf unfortunately. Anyone else experiencing this also? Seems like the s70 complicated this feature and somehow made the UI less user friendly and clunky in the process.

Help with green contours

When using the green contours (included in the subscription) is there a way to stop the screen from rotating? It would help if the approach to the green was always at the bottom of the watch screen.

When I look at it, the green continues to spin, even when I’m standing still.
