View Shot Map not showing in Garmin Golf App

Out of the last 10 rounds, 3 of those did not have the view shot map which I really check since I like to check my yardages. I also noticed that after I saved or ended the round yesterday, the watch restarted by itself. So when it rebooted, I checked and had to save the round once again. It recorded my round settings except for the view shot map in the garmin golf app

  • Hello   I would love to help investigate this further. For this, I will reach out to you to collect details, to investigate this further. For this, I will reach out to you via email.

  • 1393318 this is an issue with the latest firmware - numerous users are experiencing this same issue. Whilst a number of users have reported it here and elsewhere on the net, I know of other Garmin users who are having the same issues.

I hope, though doubt, that Garmin-LF will be able to fix it for you. If he does I hope he posts it, for all the others who are suffering......

The only fix that works for me, is to power the watch off and then back on before you start each round - if I forget, the problem happens....

  •  We are investigating this report. If you are are also experiencing this situation with the Approach S70, we would be interested in getting you added to to the report as well.  Could you please help us out by starting with these questions?

•What model of phone and OS version are you using?
    • What version of the Golf app are you using ?
    • How often have you experienced this?
    • Does the watch reboot each time before you see the shot map missing?

  • Garmin MR

I am reluctant to go through this process again - 6 months between software updates, and the problem is not fixed and in fact is made worse.

I repeat my previously asked and never answered questions

Do you have a Beta program? If not, should you?

Could you add the ability to go back to a previous software version?

    Your questions

I have a Samsung  ultra s23. All software and apps etc are the latest versions

Everytime I forget to power cycle the problem occurs - though for me the phone rebooting only occurred on one of the 3 times it has happened (no shot map or recording as an activity) to me

I know nothing about this stuff, but a restart fixing it, must be a clue? Clearing of cache or something like that perhaps?

If i sound rude, I apologise - not intended - thanks for looking into it.

  • With the reboot that I had

I don't think it was a full reboot - accordingly it may have happened each time. The screen went blank and then 3 seconds later it was back. Based on how long turning off and back on takes, I am thinking it isn't a 'reboot' as such?

  • I've been having the same issue. I track every shot, and then the data doesn't sync with the app.

Phone. Samsung fold 7, android version 16, Garmin golf 3.8.1

I've experienced the issue in 2/3 rounds. I'm still within the return period, and if the power cycle prior to the round doesn't work lll likely return the watch. It's pointless if it doesn't save the data

  • Same have happened to me on last 2 rounds. S70, Iphone 16. Latest software on watch and iphone.

  •    Currently there is not a BETA program for the Approach S70. We do not offer roll back software as well. This primarily because each software update includes fixes. Rolling back would reintroduce old concerns.

I can understand wanting to see solutions released more frequently. This is the reason we reach out to collect details of your experience. The more specifics we collect, the more quickly our engineers can fix the concern. I will reach out to collect some specifics to get this reported.

  • I have also lost the view shot map. First noticed on the “driving range” practice. Also the audio is no longer working. Have reloaded/update software. Didn’t solve problem,

  • We would like to add you to our investigation into this concern. I will be sending you an email to collect some additional information.
