&lt;p class="p2"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;If your touchscreen becomes unresponsive after a software update (often triggered by pairing with an iPhone), &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;factory resetting the device multiple times can temporarily restore functionality&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Here&amp;rsquo;s what worked for me:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p3"&gt;&lt;span class="s2"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol start="1"&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Perform a &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;factory reset&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &amp;mdash; not just once, but &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;3 to 5 times&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; if needed.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;&lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Wait at least 5 minutes&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt; after each reset is complete. The touchscreen may suddenly start responding during this time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Once the touchscreen is working, go through the initial setup &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;but DO NOT pair the watch with your phone&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;If you pair it with a phone, the watch will auto-update the firmware again &amp;mdash; and the touchscreen will most likely &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;stop working again&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p1"&gt;Unfortunately, I haven&amp;rsquo;t yet found a way to &lt;span class="s1"&gt;&lt;b&gt;install an older firmware version&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/span&gt;, which I believe would solve the issue permanently. But until then, this workaround has allowed me to at least get the touchscreen working again.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p class="p2"&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

That is a great idea for it to be available on the web as well. &lt;p&gt;The touch screen on the replacement was always dodgy and worked 50/50, but useable.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After 12 months, the touchscreen failed completely and Garmin, having looked into the replacement, wouldn&amp;#39;t replace it.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The factory reset can&amp;#39;t be completed as it relies on touch screen !&lt;/p&gt;

The 4 little spring loaded pins on the watch end quickly fail. I go through at least 2 a season. I&amp;rsquo;ve used the Garmin cables and aftermarket cables and they both fail for the same reason. I threw 2 cables out tonight and managed to get one to connect and update only by holding it tightly into the watch the entire time. I ordered 2 of the puck like charging cables as the reports on them are better.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;I should add that the Garmin Express app is very buggy. I simply couldn&amp;rsquo;t get it to boot up and it would take 5 minutes + to load the home page. I trashed the app and redownloaded it and finally got it to work.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;I shut off Webroot and my VPN as well.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;I&amp;rsquo;m not trash talking Garmin. It requires some convoluted approach through the golf app to connect. I go into Garmin connect, nothing is synchronised.
